Is nato even involved? My understanding is that nato is at the ready in nato countries like Poland.
From my understanding NATO is involved only to the extent that it’s making preparations to protect member nations in the area if needed.
Edit - they are spending money to send weapons to Ukraine.
Russia military is a joke compared to the us. This is why when republicans complain about military spending it should fall on deaf ears. The US spends more then like the next top countries. 778 billion we spent last year. More then China and the next ten countries.
The problem is once you go into a country that’s where the issues come…the us could pretty much go into most countries and overwhelm them. They would have already taken over Ukraine. It’s once you inside and have to maintain it good luck.

I know facts are not something you believe in.
Kiev is a city that sits at the basin of a river. It isn’t Tehran that is surrounded on 3 sides by mountains and a desert on the 4th.
There is nothing strategically advantageous about Kiev (or Ukraine itself). An amphibious assault while surrounding the city should be sufficient to win it.
Russia has over 10x men. Better equipment. And it’s in their backyard.
We took Baghdad, 10,000 miles away in 6 days.
We took Kandahar in 2 weeks.
Imagine us struggling to take Mexico City. It would be embarrassing.
So I’ll say this…. I think something else is going on. Because Even if you believe Russia will win it eventually, that’s not clear today. All the momentum is with Ukraine.

So far this has been a huge success for American intelligence. Ukraine is hitting supply convoys, taking down troop carriers, etc. Ukraine boots + Western intel is why they are doing do well.
But Russia sent most of their forces in yesterday. A lot of armor still headed to Kyiv, and it it’s not somehow stopped… bad things. I remain pessimistic about Kyiv’s outlook. Tonight might be a big fight.
The stepped sanctions are a plan. That is obvious.
