Nationalism is not isolationism. You can want what is best for the USA and still want what is best for the world.

In my humble opinion, the Ukraine isn’t worth a response. It’s Russian land historically. Ukraine is a Cyrillic language and dialect of Russian. The region has countless Ethnic Russians living there.

Kyiv has been around for much longer than Moscow and any Russian government. If we want to look at lines then we are likely ignoring real history for only recorded history. When do we draw a line for land ownership? Do I have to move back to Europe because my family landed here in the 1600s? Do the Vikings have a right to Canada since they landed there before others?
I guess you think Tiawan is China’s if they want it. Should Japan, Korea(s), India, etc prepare for war? Russia allowed to go west into Poland, Hungry…? Or are you good with Italy going north because of the Roman Empire?

I think Ukraine is proving that Russia isn’t as strong as we all thought they were militarily. Either that or this is all theatre for another purpose.
This I can agree with. Russia out numbers them on almost every thing that matters: troops, planes, helicopters, tanks… yet the Ukrainian military is holding up to them.

This seems to be the case. They’re certainly having more difficulty than anticipated.
It’d be nice if Ukraine could repel them altogether; what’s more likely is that it’ll just take longer for Ukraine to fall. If the Russian casualties pile up though….opposition to this from the Russian people may become a problem for Putin.
On a related note, I see that “some” Russian banks have been cut off from the SWIFT system. Question: WTF aren’t ALL OF THEM being cut off? I realize that could have more widespread effects, but at this point it seems that if no one else wants to become involved militarily, maximum pressure in every other facet makes sense.
