Not if you don’t know what to do with it. Either way he better not miss at DE this year if he stays…Just saying. No commits yet, and the big fish may not buy 8-4 or maybe even 9-3 (and before you say recruits don’t care about record…the answer is some do/some don’t, it’s not an absolute). Hopefully the CB commits stay after the losses.

Couldn’t help but notice that there seems to some problem with the quality of computer keyboards being sold with some of them being plagued with stuck caps-lock keys.
Manny doesn’t have to be the best or brightest coach…all he has to do is find good bright hungry coaches to install as his coordinators. As already mentioned here in this thread…they are out there in the lower divisions just salivating for a chance …and won’t cost a king’s ransom.
Manny has to beat the bushes . Get as may names as possible . Watch as many names as possible and stop settling on the people he’s known for years. That right there is one of the nails in his coffin.

Hire coach of Florida’s winningest program, the Division II University of West Florida Argos. Pete Shinnick’s UWF team won the Div II National Championship last year, and they’re ranked No. 1 this year. UWF has only played football for six seasons.
Shinnick has an excellent record as a coach, and he would really be a bargain. He’s had three stints as head coach, and won in each venue. Won Coach of the Year honors three times. Shinnick is a very good recruiter and a proven developer of talent.
He’s a candidate coming from no where, but he’d be a huge improvement on what we have now. He has a wealth of coaching experience having coached in more than 200 collegiate games. If UM hired Shinnick, it would have lots of money left over to pay vaunted assistants.

Look I’m rooting for Diaz. I like SOME of the things he’s doing recruiting… But I think he isn’t a leader of men at all. Pretty simple…Any time a losing team is still excited to TAKE THE TIME to go take pictures with fucking TD rings on (not to mention they can’t force a turnover to save their life, that chain is MIA) in a game they are getting whooped by Virginia…It’s just not my style, it’s fucking embarrassing.
Too many gimmicks with this dude…Not enough head busting.
Hopefully he wins out…I hope he lets Stoop get more involved with the defense.
But I’ll be shocked if we go 8-4 and land more than 2 of Blissainthe, Armelia, Stewart, Kelly, and a stud DT.

I don’t want to wait on a coach who can’t win unless he has top 3-4 talent every year. I’m not sure anyone can get Miami to that range in today’s recruiting landscape…Especially losing 4 games a year. You will land a guy here and there, and covid certainly help him keep a few home last year…
But history tells me outside of Butch Davis when the national championships were in a LOT more recent memory for kids…And it was a different recruiting landscape to begin with…Kids are going to start realizing Diaz is selling shit, and the talent isn’t going to get where you think it will, and he’s not good enough on game day to make up for having top 15-20 talent instead of top 5.

Already explained this for you…It was against a weak schedule. And he’s failed to adjust to teams adjustments against him…What about the categories it wasn’t good in…What about the direction the defense has headed for 3 seasons now? And he’s a shitty HC, and a shitty HC shouldn’t be coordinating too because it’s more responsibility that he simply can’t handle.

I’m saying there are plenty of bad coaches out there that will underperform their talent, and that there are holes on the rosters and specifically the defense that shouldn’t be there. And Manny Diaz is looking more and more like one of these bad coaches.

He’s had 3 classes…I personally would think him staying on board (UM hiring from within) gives him a leg up to have a slightly better if not optimal recruiting class his 1st year…But even if you disagree, you still can’t call it 2 classes. I wouldn’t judge him on class 1 either…But you can’t ignore it altogether.
Storm no one in America is giving 5 year test runs to an unproven coach when a program is showing no signs of improving other than you or I liking some of their recruits. That’s not the way it works from middle and up of power 5 college football.
