It’d be at least 99% slurred by now, and I’d also enjoy that reaction very much.

South Bend is beside themselves right now!

ND had to know eventually that not being part of a conference would catch up to them. That being said if you are objective and actually watched bama this year they were not very good. They bring up the georgia game. Go back and watch the game. Bama got off to a fluke type start. Alabama controlled the game for a quarter and a half, georgia controlled the rest of the game. Bama got dominated yesterday

Commitee did their best to keep convo away from Bama. That bump up after Auburn win made things easier in the room but also much more glaring

It happens when the sports world, the media and the public all in an uproar over the committee’s obscure, under-the table way of doing things. The committee got the message. They realized they were under the microscope and in the spotlight. They had no choice but to make the correct choice this time. Otherwise it would be suicide. We owe much thanks to the sports world, the media, the general public and, mercy me, let’s not forget about all the Canes fans, past players, coaches, etc, etc, etc that have been screaming for a long time about the unbalanced playoff selection processes and also the undeserved favoritism Notre Dame gets, both on and off the field. Now we’re in. That’s great! Now it’s up to our team to get out on the field and show all they belong there. That’s the final nail in Notre Dame’s coffin … for this season at least. Hopefully their long standing reign of a favorite, spoiled child is actually over for good. Go Canes! Get past A&M and you will have the privilege of going H2H with the Buckeye’s. You know, the other favorite, spoiled child … the team that was awarded one of OUR National Championships on a crap ref’s call. It’s payback time if we want it bad enough. Go Canes!

I hate to be the downer but if we make it past tam and play fuckeyes thier wr may set new records against our defense.

not based on what I saw last night. held to 10 points and indiana’s D is only marginally better than ours statistically

Hellllllll yah, Looky looky! Mmm Hmm, Mmm Hmm :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Fuk em…them pussies backed out of any bowl game now. Fuk them and their entitled nose in the air fan base!

Yeah, agree on all of this. Alabama gets in because they are SEC. No 3 loss team should be in.
Agreed, ND needs to join a conference.

I can’t believe that! What a bunch of spoiled brats! Too good to play in a bowl game. Maybe they are afraid of losing and getting exposed.

This is wild!

I’d like to agree but I just read that, starting next year in 2026, Notre Dame has a new rule guaranteeing entry into the CFP if they finish in the top 12. Which is total BS for them to get that.

Another rule change for next year is the ACC’s conference champ will be guaranteed entry. I think only the 5th one will be up in the air. If this was the case this year, Duke would have made the playoffs! But while this sounds like a bad decision, it’s fine if the ACC fixes their tie breaker.

At this juncture what benefit is there to the ACC to allow Notre Dame to participate in other sports? I would hope that the idea was that eventually Notre Dame would relent and join in football too. If that is not happening and they insert special CFP playoff rules for themselves ACC leadership should give them the boot.

Yes, there’s a new agreement for the expanded College Football Playoff (CFP) starting next season (2024-2025), guaranteeing Notre Dame (as an independent) a top-12 ranking earns them a spot, essentially an automatic bid, unlike the previous system where they had to rely solely on at-large bids, making it easier for them to get in, though they were snubbed for the 2025 season despite a great record.

Key Rules & Context for Notre Dame:

  • Previous System (Until 2023 Season): As an independent, Notre Dame had to fight for one of the limited at-large spots against conference champions, a tough path.
  • New Expanded CFP (Starting 2024-2025 Season): The CFP is expanding, and Notre Dame secured a deal to be guaranteed a playoff berth if they finish ranked in the top 12 at the end of the season, per this Facebook post from The Irish Tribune and this Yahoo Sports article.
  • This (2025) Season’s Snub: Despite a strong 10-2 record, the Irish were the first team left out of the 12-team playoff, as Miami got the final at-large spot, showing how challenging it still is even with the new structure (before it fully kicks in).
  • Bye Week Eligibility: Under the new format, Notre Dame is also eligible for a first-round bye if they earn a top-4 seed, a benefit previously reserved for conference champions, according to this Facebook post from AP News.

Man.. Fuck ND and their self—entitlement… It’s infuriating that college football STILL kisses their ass and caters to them. Why do we need to keep doing these ‘special’ Notre Dame rules and exceptions?

Join a conference.. ANY conference.. or GTFO.

Notre Dame had the right to be upset. They would beat Alabama IMHO. I think the entitlement of alabama and the sec is worse. Bama barely beat Auburn. Went 2-2 in their final four games. They got dominated vs Georgia.
