Jeez. Those years only 50% of a class even stayed on campus, and maybe 50% of the remaining made an impact (Hedley, Clark, Nelson, Harvey, ~JHH in 2019; Jordan, Scaife, Harris, Mallory, Rousseau in 2018)

Staggering to look at, really. Wow.

Departed in 2020

Fixed thx

Reed is a medical retirement
Sam Brooks I believe is a medical retirement too

Good god. It’s even worse than 50%. That’s looking like roughly 16/40 (40%) of those classes saw the field. TBF it’s easier to transfer than previously with portal. But if you’re only hitting on 40% of evals making it onto the field…massively inefficient and a huge waste of resources both on the program and the players. Nobody is well served by that. And I’d wager not even half of portal players find a home and not even 10% of those that do make an impact. Woof.

As of now, 40% of portal kids land somewhere. The rest end up retiring.

Looking at how many wash outs there were in the 2018, 2019 and 2020 classes, no wonder the team sucks. So much for Miami’s “great” recruiting classes. Those classes were ranked 8th, 17th and 11th in the nation respectively.

Darrell Jackson to portal

That one hurts. Showed big potential…Tailed off slightly late in year, but he and Taylor were a top notch returning duo. If ever we could use a last minute change of mind.

Hopefully Miller returns, he’s needed now.

Losing Darrell Jackson hurts for sure. First real starter loss at one of the most important positions on the team (and one of the hardest to replace). Shocked they lost him after getting him this last year. NIL must be a big part of this one. Somebody is whispering in his ear.

Is it really that shocking…Supposedly his mom his sick (may be using that for the waiver)

But even without that had to be tough for a Nofla kid to get his whooped by school he likely grew up loving (FSU).
