Four minimum OL will leave or should leave?
Get rid of every damn kid. They’ve been infected by the laziness and entitlement and underachievement.
I’m expecting four leave. Four that aren’t good enough for Miami.

Wonder how the portal is gonna evolve. Early portal means maybe moving to a new school only to have those coaches leave. Late (spring) portal means more guaranteed stability. Otoh early bird gets the worm.

Some of them could drop 30-40 and be about the right size to play Lb. Not sure about DB but Wes was playing at 205-210 this year but we also lost most of the LBers too
Between HS and portal I think we bring in 7-8 DB. As of right now we have 4 committed.

Another Manny Diaz kid fleeing the program. Sure, Mario signed off on honoring the scholarship offer, but Rogers and his daddy are more Manny Diaz than they are Mario Cristobal.
Good riddance. The program showed support and commitment to Rogers through his knee injury and all daddy and buddy can do is bitch about playing time then run away because their feelings are hurt.

Well, John Campbell just entered the portal.
Was he one of the four you thought/expected 90s?
I said a couple weeks back I didn’t see both Campbell and Nelson on the team next year. Neither wouldn’t shock either although I hope Nelson stays
I also don’t see more than 1 of Washington, Seymour, R-Rod on team next year.
Clark, Sapolu, or Mclaughlin wouldn’t shock either.
Nelson can go off to SMU or wherever.
I think Rodriguez is only sticking around and allowed to stick around because he tore his achilles. Cristobal and Mirabel aren’t going to jettison a Columbus kid without securing a spot for him elsewhere even if that means keeping him on the roster for one more year.
I agree fat Seymour might find himself elsewhere same for Washington and Mclaughlin and I guess Clark.
I don’t see Sapolu transferring after transferring in due to Mirabel and Cristobal bringing him in.
He wasn’t. He likely had a starting spot locked down. Agree on Ryan not getting pushed out without a spot.
I don’t think this was clear…I agreed he was a small favorite to win a job. But I think that whole line is and should be wide open. But maybe they informed him Nelson was ahead of him at LT…Or maybe he didn’t like that he had to re-win the job from anyone, and this is before we even get to Mauigao and Oku. He had a decent but unspectacular year, but we all kinda thought he was more of a RT guy anyway.
Who knows though. Maybe he just didn’t like new staff.
Remove Balom from the portal list; he’s back.
My question is if you are Mario do you want him back? He was willing to bail on the program (whatever those reasons may be) but found out he wasn’t highly sought after; can you really rely on the kid then? If things don’t go his way, or he thinks the grass is greener elsewhere he will be a flight risk…again.
Can you rely on that type of individual, if you are looking to build a culture of commitment and accountability?
Could also be a come-to-Jesus moment for the kid. He realizes nobody cares what he did in HS anymore and this is his ONE OPPORTUNITY to show out, then works his ass off.

I guess it can go either way.
I’m just weary of guys who have already expressed interest in leaving your program once as that thought never seems to just go away (Lingard, Pope, Avantae are examples).

40% of kids in the portal find a home. Miller, Campbell, Jackson are the ones that really hurt. We need two DT from the portal! Campbell loss will be ok tonight if Samson picks us as expected. The other major factor would be Nelson getting better advice.
