In the fall of 2019, House impeachment investigators were already talking to several current and former top staffers on Bolton’s national security team, one of whom testified that Bolton called the Ukraine scheme “a drug deal” and said he wanted no part in it.
In November, Democrats asked Bolton to testify voluntarily and set a date. Even top Republicans said they wanted to hear from Bolton. He didn’t show. Then his lawyer sent a letter to House Democrats saying that Bolton would sue them if they tried to subpoena him.
Ignoring a congressional subpoena is normally a crime that can be punishable by a fine or jail time. But Bolton’s former No. 2 at the National Security Council had just been subpoenaed and told by the White House not to comply (even though he didn’t work there anymore). So Charles Kupperman filed a lawsuit, asking a federal judge which branch of government has the upper hand on whether he should testify: the executive branch or the legislative.
If you acknowledge this is political (which you are now on record) and still believe it should move forward then you’re essentially a supporter of despotism. You think it’s ok to weaponized the agencies and government bodies of State to pursue individuals that defy the current political order.

Right now we have a pretty clear contrast in the country. You either go with the hard left or you go America First policies. There isn’t really a middle. Not saying I agree with all of the Right but I just want it on record, you are with the rest of the libs on the board right?

It’s pretty simple. Believe it or not I’m a registered Republican. I support most of those views (not all). But I’ve been appalled by Trumps behavior. I pray Desantis overtakes him, trumps behavior - getting millions to believe that something happened that didn’t - literally hurts America because people (like GSC) stop trusting the process. If you win, great. If you lose, you should man up, concede, and fight for next time. Trump wrecked it. It needs to be fixed.

Was it illegal to hold him in contempt and was the sentence illegal? You keep whining about the past and it didn’t happen and all of this, but you’ve held a different standard for literally anything involving Trump and his actions…so, was it illegal? It doesn’t matter if it was unprecedented or anything else. Trump did all kinds of unprecedented stuff and you don’t give a shit. So…was it illegal? Was what Bannon did illegal?
When it comes to Trump and Republicans, GSC holds them to a legal standard. “They can’t get him in court so he’s vindicated.”
When it comes to Democrats, GSC holds them to a moral standard, which is impossible to defend against since it is 100% opinion. Court doesn’t matter, evidence doesn’t matter, it’s just shocking and inhumane and evil.
