That’s what a gazillion years of conditioning man as the hunter will do. Now we are reprogramming.
Reprogramming? What do you mean?
That transpersons are and always have been normal human beings throughout history.
Ok. Great. But they were biologically born a certain way.
What if I’m an adult and I identify as a 10 year old? That should mean that I should be allowed to play against 10 year olds in sports. And if I kick the shit out of them in said sport, that’s ok?
Very small sample size at 2% of the pop, but I think it lends credence to suggest that your statement isnt true, some of the time. Which then leads to further questions overall
The presence or lack of a penis is often thought of as another clear indicator of biological sex, but that’s not a decisive way to divide the sexes either. Some individuals are born with ambiguous genitalia and are not clearly male or female in genital appearance at birth. In fact, research indicates that about 2% of the population is born with these ambiguous traits. Those born with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), for example, are chromosomally female but may have very masculinized genitalia. Despite the ambiguity, biological sex is often assigned to these individuals within a few days of birth.
I also think we will stop assigning sex/gender at birth moving forward. I mean why rush, especially of we have the chance to be wrong?
Some of the time? What does that mean?
Either the testosterone is there or it isn’t.
Nevermind. You’re just trolling at this point.
I’ve done nothing but show you the utmost respect in this conversation. I get that it isnt an easy conversation, but please quit repeating yourself and acting like the final authority on the subject when you haven’t provided a shred of evidence except parroting “testosterone” over and over. I’ve provided you with some material and I’d suggest you open and read it to start dialogue.
In this most recent context of you using testosterone. Women can be born with more testosterone than men as well. Again, small sample, but it dispells your authoritarian view on the subject “some of the time.”
You’re the one who said “some of the time.”
So ok - back to my previous point that you didn’t respond to:
Blockquote

Of course I said some of the time. That is what disputed your point. Edit - or what I think your point is. You keep saying testosterone and expect me to understand what you mean as if is the end all be all for gender or sex when it isnt.
I’m not playing your strawman logic game. Be better.
How is it a straw man logic game?
You have a literal man competing against literal women. How is this fair?
I’ve asked you several times to keep on point in a round about way. This conversation obv has you flustered. Your man vs 10 year old is a straw man, is it not?
I’ve stayed on task. You’re deflecting.
How is it ok for a literal man to compete against literal women when those literal women - when drug tested and test positive for the same level of testosterone as the literal man - who’s allowed to compete as a woman - get disqualified?
How is this fair?
I’m not deflecting.
Show me once where I have stated ITT what you posted above. Quote me, I challenge you.
I’ll save you the time. I’ve never made the argument you are stating in here. That is how unhinged you have become on the mere subject.
I know you haven’t……because you’ve simply ignored it.
That’s kind of what I’m talking about.
So again, tell me how a literal man, competing against literal women, in a sport where there are completely separate qualifying times for a reason, is fair to those literal women?
And let’s remember - it’s very likely that most of these women (as well as myself) are entirely for an adult choosing to be transgender.

Then, what don’t you understand about this being temporal?
I agree with you TODAY, btw and ftr.
But I think it will and should be different in the future.
Edit
And we will go through a lot of growing pains getting there.
Not constructive
Hooray for 51. He has not completely lost his mind. Djrion. Hmmm, I 'm not so sure.
DJ - I think you know I agree with a good percentage of your views - but this one I disagree with you on. I don’t see how this can or should be different in the future. If a female who wanted to become male competed in the same type of events - that is different, because the competition is literally harder.
Read the open letter from the University of Arizona swim team. I think it makes very fair points. In fact, I’ve posted it here:
That’s a good letter, representing their worldview. I think if we take it at face value, there isn’t much to argue with. Thanks for sharing.
I think we need to be considerate of several other items. Trans persons have faced more discrimination, for a longer period of time than women (in this context). We can, of course, argue women still face a huge uphill battle against discrimination.
I’d argue it is worse tho right now, for transpersons. We can’t argue, successfully, for women’s rights while we step on the heads of those below, can we?
I think that as the science continues to unfold, showing that we are inappropriately labeling sex/gender with our binary worldview, the biological arguments made in their letter will be outdated and frivolous eventually.
What is different about the perspective below?
