Telsi Gabbard also refused to be bullied by Hannity last night with regard to Ukraine, her chief point being that Ukraine cannot win, and that the West intransigence to ending the war rather than sending munitions to Ukraine is contributing to carnage and suffering of the Ukraine people whom we are asking to commit suicide while we and the rest NATO refuse to commit any soldiers to the peril of fighting the Red Army in Ukraine. The West is much to blame for this war which needn’t have happened were it not for a rigged election.
Biden is now in Europe embarrassing the United States on a daily basis. In Brussels, Biden repeated the “very good people hoax,” the notorious lie that his predecessor, President Trump, praised the pathetic handful of neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, Virginia, as “very good people.” This is a canard that Biden has repeated over and over, even though it has been thoroughly debunked. What Trump said was that there were “very fine people” among the peaceful demonstrators on both sides of the Charlottesville statue controversy. He condemned the neo-Nazis unreservedly.
This brings me to a fine article by Victor Davis Hansen, eminent Professor of History, one of the best op ed writers in the business. The world is tired of wokeness and other leftist craziness. Essentially, when you go woke, you indeed go broke. Hansen predicts a populist rejection of leftist who in just a year’s time have immeasurably damaged America, making a mockery of and insulting American traditionalism the spirit responsible for its greatness. Trump succeeded in making America greater while Biden has failed, and Americans, particularly the middle class are suffering. Hansen really nails it in this article:

And you say Ukraine cannot win. That might not be true. Russia may in fact lose this. Their army is god awful. Even if they take Ukraine, there’s no way they can hold it. It’s very clear based on how hard a time they’re having against an army that they outman and outgun.
i was doing some reading on classic geopolitics today and was amazed at how similar Russia’s current invasion of Ukraine is to WWII, and not just the obvious German invasion of Russia, but also of the Japanese invasion of China.
Germany felt itself a nation wronged, harrangued by the West and the East. They saw what they believed were false microstates of Germanic people and felt it their national duty to expand. (Yes, I am saying bikki’s views of Ukraine’s statehood very much mirror Hitler’s version of Geopolitik.) Moving into Russia strung them out.
Japan invaded China and quickly took over a nearby block of land. They pushed the Chinese army back significantly but fought themselves into a stalemate. Japan underestimated the power of an insurgency and overestimated their ability to stretch their forces over land as they took cities.
Russia is learning the same lessons today.
(Also curious and worth pointing out that the US supported China in the early Chino-Japanese War with money and supplies. Sound familiar? Japan got so fed up with US support they… bombed Pearl Harbor. It was their biggest mistake in the war. I think Putin at least knows not to go this far.)
Another interesting article I read that gives the opinion that Russia’s army is a lot like Stalin’s back in WW2 in that they still rely heavily on tanks. And while back then that made sense - there’s been a shit to anti-machinery weaponry (I.e, Javelins and Stingers).
They interviewed a marine who said back in the day he was jealous of the guys who got to enjoy the safety of sitting inside a tank. Not anymore.
Yeah, the Gulf War was the last hurrah of tanks. They’re not as effective anymore, which isn’t to say they don’t have their uses.
Russia actually has a manpower problem, believe it or not. These tanks need infantry supporting them and they’re not there.
Russia’s a land power and their force protection is about heavy land movement (tanks/soldiers) and a fuckton of missiles. You want an elite air force? Sorry, they have the capability for small missions but nothing coordinated. You want a real navy? Not gonna happen.
And it’s true that war has changed just in the last 10 years. Everyday soldiers with javelins and drones can fuck armor up as easily as playing a video game.

Then there is the question of how Zelensky became so wealthy. Ukraine is not exactly the motion picture sun source of the universe. How many Ukrainian or Russian movies have you watched this year, or for that matter ever? BTW, if you get a chance, watch the Russian movie “Dersu Uvala.” It won an Oscar in 1975 for best foreign film. Touching story. You’ll like it.
