Except that the pretext Russia used was that Donetsk and Luhansk were populated with Russian citizens and they had to go in to protect them. How were they Russian citizens? They had Russian passports, Russian passports that were handed out under Trump in 2019 when Putin began prepping this incursion. The war in Ukraine has the potential to last for months since it begins as spring begins. Ukrainians have no remedy for winning the war, and they should sue for peace. Perhaps they should follow some Koranic advice with regard to their struggle. Islam’s conquest of the world is based upon a long term strategy. When the enemy is irresistible as is the case in Ukraine, Muslims declare a “hudnah,” a peace for the sole purpose of eventually building up strength to achieve a final conflict victory. The West needs to stop supplying Ukraine with weapons to prolong the conflict. What Ukraine needs is peace not a ruined nation and lives sacrificed both voluntarily and involuntarily.
Putin surprised me, and I admit to being wrong about his intentions. I thought that he would only move into the Dombas region and annex Donetsk and perhaps Luhansk. I never imagined he’d lay siege to both Kiev and Kharkov. or bomb the hell out of Ukrainian cities, at times with out too much regard for civilians.
Winter is a long way off, but historically winter affects wars with Russia. In the meantime, we have the dumbest president in history whom I worry about provoking Russia into using its nuclear arsenal or other dreadful weapons. There is no reason for months of bloodshed. There needs to be a settlement, but it will painful for Ukraine and the West since Putin is holding all the cards that matter. Rigged elections have consequences. This would not have happened under Trump. Trump made America great. Biden has made Russia and China great
