Syracuse is so bad this season that I doubt Miami can manage to lose but I think they will struggle somewhat and not cover the spread.
Meanwhile, I hope it is a blowout win.
It’s funny, a month ago I thought this would be our hardest remaining game. Never did I think we’d already have 2 losses and I still wouldn’t be worried about this game.
The ACC is so bloated now it’s lame we don’t get to play the top teams for their position. Then again we did have a pair of awful ACC losses so we can’t complain all that much.
Oh well, it takes the stress out of the season. Go Canes.
I now see this is because their starting QB went down and they’ve gone 0-5 since.
Offense looks listless. Had it not been for a penalty, Beck would have had another interception. Rushing game not effective. Syracuse not a very good team.
Beck looks gun shy about throwing downfield. He needs to do so to keep defensive backs from moving up. After all, this kid Moore needs more touches.
I was going to yell if we didn’t make them repunt.
While this is true, the penalty was on the db who intercepted, and the INT was likely caused by the penalty. I’ll give that one a pass but it’s certainly troubling.
Unfortunately, we’re once again shooting ourselves in the foot with penalties.
What does Dawson have against throwing slants to the TE?

There is just no energy from the team as a whole on offense. Brown is running hard. Trader running lazy routes.
What’s up with the coach from SU jawing at Mario? The end of game handshake should be interesting.
Listen, we CLEARLY are not a top 10 team.
I hate to go back in the day but back in the day we had on field leaders who challenged each other and held each other accountable. Remember that Ed Reed speech? I just don’t see any of that on our team, at all!

Man, just this game alone Beck does not handle pressure well. He can avoid the initial pressure, but he quickly panics and isn’t able to save the play.
One scramble he ran, but slid instead of running further out of bounds.
Another time he could have escaped but basically tripped himself.
This last time, he spun away from a sack, but he rushed a bad pass.
Mesidor saved the points there. Defense is definitely flying around. Some of Syracuse’s 3rd down conversions were frustratingly close.

I guess we know why Trader hasn’t been playing much. Next man up!
Where’s Josh Moore? This kid should be a formidable weapon.
If you’re going to run through the middle, the pop pass to the TE should work wonderfully with the defense stacking the middle. If Dawson did this, the back COULD rush up the middle.

Trader has already screwed up 2 or 3 times this game. This drop was only the biggest. I bet Beck is pissed at him.
Thing is, we have plenty of targets, even with Daniels out. Why are we not hitting them?
Another embarrassing example of Beck panicking after a close call. He avoided the sack and then totally freaked out. He had no presence, no discipline.
The second we mix up the receiving targets, we have immediate success. Is anyone surprised?
Give Dawson credit for that one.
