Spring Game updates please

ACC network still didn’t exist on Comcast, please share what you see

Rambo looks good, as does Van Dyke.

Pope and Wiggins have a case of the dropsies

Restrepo with a nice catch getting a foot in the endzone

Garcia has some really nice touch on the ball. X has been consistent and Rambo looks like he’s the goods. Pope and Wiggins both dropped deep balls. A. Williams looks rangy. Hard to tell how the DBs will look with so many out.

Team looked fast. Garcia looked extremely good for a true freshman. OL was moving people.

This is a good team

I think of the young WRs X looked good as did Keyshawn Smith.

Very little push by the DLine and especially DEs.

Knighton looked much better than Harris.

Who was the WR 88 (Johnson)? He actually had a couple of really nice plays.

Has me worried like nobody’s business. Not sure who’s gonna step up for '21? We just lost so much. Someone offer me some encouragement! :weary:

How did the LB’s look? That’s the scariest area on the team in my opinion?

Agree

LB is still the question mark but moving Keontra there will pay dividends for us. He made a play on the first drive closing on a Knighton sweep that I haven’t seen one of our Lbs make since Perryman. Still lacking an alpha there on the 2nd level though. Really need Huff to make his mark there, it’s time for him. I like Flagg, but he is limited athletically. He will have to be perfect with his instincts, flow, and timing to be a GUY IMO.

its just a spring game but I liked what i see from Garcia.

what do you do with him now though?

the talk is that king will be ready for fall camp, and thus supposedly ready for alabama, but that seems really optimistic and unlikely to me… do you throw Garcia into the ocean and see if he sinks or swim? i worry that the bama D will just eat him alive and destroy his confidence/psyche permanently. on the other hand, imagine if he puts up big numbers and has them on the ropes? that should propel him nicely knowing that he will not face a better D all season.

i think we need to be careful with him…i say we should throw TVD in the fire first and see how he does.

I think we get eaten alive by Bama regardless of who’s QB.

I think this team can be good but I wouldn’t get my hopes up thinking we can hang with them. They’re an NFL team.

If there’s a year for us to upset Bama or be competitive, this is it. Miami is returning 19 starters, Bama much less. Those returning for Bama are either too young for NFL or not clear NFL talent.

Starting QB is either King or who you think is QB2 in the event King goes down. Beyond that, you’re playing silly mind games. In the event of either TVD or Garcia getting manhandled, it comes down to psychie management and they should be prepared for that.

Alabama’s 2nd team QB is Paul Tyson, he is the great, grandson of Bear Bryant. He was 2nd team All State from Trussville, AL. Saban named Bryce the first team QB before the A Day game.

Alabama has a very young offensive line, but they are still extremely talented My worry is they follow the default strategy employed by NC State against us, and concentrate on rushing the football. RB is one of the strengths of their team. Alabama defensive strength is their LBs. We can be thankful Davonta and Waddle are gone. Waddle got injured last year, but IMO is a better WR than the Heisman winner. Waddle is the biggest game changing Tide receiver since Julio Jones. He comparable to Miami’s Devin Hester.

We did a breakdown pod with Manny Navarro…Should have it up tomorrow. Had a long weekend and did not do the pod till later on today…

#13 looks like the future. TVD better bring a ton to the table outside of his arm. TVD has a good arm but Garcia has touch, strength, and timing that appears a good percent better than TVD. TVD was trying to kill the WRs with the passes.

Other observations:
KSmith, Rambo, Harley, X were the four best WRs. 88 (walk-on) was better than 8/6.
OL did ok with Donaldson and Rivers
DE didn’t show us much so I hope they can find another portal kid or LT can produce at DE.
Smith should lock down WILL with Huff, Brooks, Cave, Flagg fighting for MLB and second string.
#2 is bigger than some of our LBers!
Ivey is still giving up long balls and go hurt because he didn’t want to tackle.
15 will get lots of snaps at Safety and if healthy will play on Sundays.

Lastly, we have two NFL legs.

So things are same as last year.

We’re there any passes thrown to Tight Ends at all on Saturday?

No TEs played. Hodges was arrested on weed and gun charges. The other two were out with injuries. The freshmen arrive in the summer. There were a few passes to FBs.

Thanks, I was thinking that TE’s were thrown out of the offense.

How could all the TE’s be injured? What are the odds of that?
