The game starts at 11am Dallas time and it will be cool; 50’s to 60’s. And it may drizzle.
Traditionally, Miami teams are notoriously bad in cold weather and morning games are not a strong suit. And as we all know all too well, Miami has a horrible tendency to start very slow, get behind and they have to play balls out in the second half to win or lose narrowly.
SMU is not a great team but they are a good team. 50/50 chance Miami dumps this game IMHO.
Miami is better on paper but unfortunately, the game will be played on grass. Miami is about a 10 point favorite.
I was wondering why the hell SMU’s new 35K on campus stadium was named after Gerald Ford.
As it turns out it isn’t “that Gerald Ford.” Rather, the Gerald Ford in question is a billionaire banking executive who graduated from SMU and SMU Law in the 1960’s. He is on SMU’s board and donated $20M towards the stadium’s construction.
I may watch the game. I’m a masochist.
Predictable. At least, Dawson threw on first down. So much for using Toney as a decoy.
He goes in motion, half of SMU focuses on him, a pass to the flat behind the LOS, immediately stopped.
The Fletcher drop didn’t help.
I thought the same thing about the Toney play.it was designed to fail.
Fletcher runs outside for a change.
We’re killing it on first down for a change.
Dawson calling a great game so far.
Agree. The offense has overall been more creative and dynamic. It’s early though and I’m not sure it can last, but it’s great to see.
Penalties still killing us. One turns a likely TD into a FG, then the next turns the FG into a punt.
Of course SMU’s penalties help them. Their delay of game negates their missed field goal. Instead they punt and it’s a 26 yard swing in their favor.
Anyone know why Daniels is out?
It appears we’ve gone into a swoon. Special teams not doing especially well.
This is falling apart for Miami, and there’s no real reason for it. If we settle down we easily dominate.
Both punt fielders managed to kick it INTO the end zone.
So many procedural penalties. Nice conversion on 3rd down. Beck is pretty good when not rushed with a clean pocket.
Not watching just checking out the ESPN gamecast occasionally.
This penalty shyt has to stop. Cristobal must not be punishing players for fcking up.
I would run players who commit stupid penalties at 6am on Monday morning until they puked. If they quit, fck off, goodbye.
If a coach tolerates this nonsense, it never gets fixed.
Miami is one of the most penalized teams in college football; it’s ridiculous.

Here comes a FG?
I saw the replay of the SMU TD. I wish Miami would lose that zone nonsense. Go man to man.
At least we are up at the half
It’s so frustrating watching how many points we leave on the field. We keep teams around and make every contest a nailbiter.nail item.
We’re up at the half but they get the ball back first and I bet Lashlee’s adjustments get them in the end zone for the lead.
The Beck pick was a bad throw, too high, behind the receiver/wrong shoulder but the receiver still could have made a play on it in theory. Beck is much more of a liabilty than an asset. Miami should get its $4M back.
This is looking more like Louisville II than Stanford II. Hopefully, Miami’s offense will get it together in the second half.
