Lot of smoke about Raiola being a pariah. I keep hearing that Nebraska people aren’t sad about him leaving.

Leavett would be a good hit…BUT I HATE the way he left ASU and no showed the end of the year for the team. Team captain and ditched the team late after the injury.

Leavitt has visited multiple schools and left without committing….makes me think he’s fishing for the biggest offer. either that, or his injury is worse than people think.
That’s the thing. I love Leavett as a player. My daughter goes to Arizona State and word on campus was he just ghosted everyone and then no showed the year end team dinner as a captain. EVEN if you are working a deal for yourself, have some common sense in how you treat the people you’ve played with and fought with making the CFP the year prior. He really vibes for the money only, which worries me for any team.
My first choice in portal was Sorsby who I moved ahead of Leavitt due to concerns about his being injury prone. Raiola has some talent but I would pass on him in that he appears to be an ingrate and the last thing we need is turmoil.
If we don’t get Leavitt, my choice was the local kid UWF’s Marcus Stokes. Stokes has very similar ability to that of Trinidad Chambliss who played at Ferris State. He is threat as a passer and a formidable bruising rusher. Unfortunately, we’re too late on Stokes who has signed with Memphis. I predict Stokes will be an All-American QB next year. This past year, he scored 40 touchdowns at UWF. Stokes attended Nease HS in St. Augustine, same HS as Tebow. He was four star prospect and signed with Florida. Due to a verbal impropriety on a video, his Florida scholarship was withdrawn, he and wound up at Division II University of West Florida here in Pensacola. His behavior at UWF has been exemplary. Stokes is as good as Chambliss.
Honestly, I’m not sure it matters these days…kids will go where they get the biggest bag, follow their coach who leaves, etc…I don’t want Leavitt…shows a lack of leadership and selfishness.

I heard similar rumors about Leavitt. The word is he’s not a good locker room guy.
Any idea if UM will have any action on signing day 2/4? Assumption is no.
They brought some guys in last week they have interest in.

When it comes to recruiting, grass does not grow under Mario’s feet. Ward, Beck, and now Mensah.
Mario is an Elite recruiter.
Lane Kiffin is knocking it out of the park with 40 incoming portal players. LSU is first in the category of portal recruiting, Miami is now 4th with 12 incoming portal players. LSU wanted a national championship team. It appears they’re laying the groundwork to achieve their goal. You many not like Kiffin. A lot of people don’t, but Kiffin’s teams can flat out score a helluva lot of points.
Curious if ANYTHING happened today. Not only for Miami but for any team. Looking at all the usual suspect sports websites there isn’t much above a superficial level. I guess this is a total non-starter not just for UM but for P4 teams across the board. No sense even paying attention, hah.
Damn, I read this and didn’t understand it. Totally over my head that today is “signing day”. Seems like it all got done in December, right? Not really any action to report even on the recruiting sites.
