Mts GameDay thread

You haven’t taken your Saturdays back at all. You’re still here every week bitching and complaining acting like you’ve “moved on” from the team and yet your dumb ass still shows up every game to let us all know how smart you are and how you’ve moved on from the team…every week. Every Week!!! Yeah…the Miami Hurricanes have permanent residence in your little brain, dude. You ain’t foolin’ anyone. Hey, I have an idea!..Why don’t you just leave forever so you can actually PROVE to us that you’ve moved on from the team? Know why you won’t? BECAUSE YOU CAN’T!!!

Team’s got total ownership over you!

I think this is pretty fucking hilarious. I tune in for 5m to get a laugh at you guys whining and crying week in and week out. I haven’t watched a game in years. Tuned in for 5 minutes week 1 when we destroyed the school of the blind and learned instantly NOTHING has changed. It doesn’t take much to see the same LAME ass product which doesn’t deserve anyone’s time. Your ego just lost to Middle Fucking Tennessee State. That might be one of the funniest things I’ve seen in 20 years at Miami. So you keep doing you and suffering weekly. One day you’ll join my side and understand that you are legit wasting your life caring about a dead football program.

Serous question here… not trying to be antagonistic.

“Then why are you here?”

It’s gonna take time, but Gattis ain’t it.

Shit is exausting to watch…Slow, slow developing, trodding offense that takes a day to line up and allow the Defense to adjust. Can someone ANYONE compare Lashlee’s snaps per game to Gattis through 4 games? I am scared to even look.

I found this…

This tool only looks at FBS matchups. So far, this season, both Miami and have played 3 FBS teams so it makes the comparison a little easier. SMU is ranked #5 in the country, running 84.7 plays/game and Miami is ranked #6, at 84.0 plays/game. That is statistically a wash. I find this astonishing, as I am sure you do as well–it just seems like Miami is running a lot fewer plays/game than it did last year under Lashlee.

I dug a little further, and what I think explain why Miami is ranked so high in plays/game, is the time of possession. Here is where we see a large discrepancy.

Miami is ranked #8 with 35:04 TOP, and SMU is #102 with 28:00. Combining the plays/game with the TOP stats, SMU is running 3.1 plays/minute, and Miami is running 2.48 plays/minute. SMU is definitely running far more plays/minute of possession than Miami.

Looking at Miami’s 2021 TOP stats under Lashlee (27:48) they are pretty consistent with what SMU has shown this season (28:00).

As of right now, Gattis’ production on plays/game at Miami (87.0) is at lot higher than it was at Michigan (70.3 plays/game), and his TOP is also higher at Miami (35:04) than it was at Michigan (31:22).

I found this all surprising and interesting (I find sports stats fascinating) but I would say the jury is still out on Gattis–other than the most important stat which is point production. And there, he really has a problem.

That is odd.

If Gattis’ O scored 50% TDs on redzone drives the last two weeks, we would be 4-0 and not trashing the team. He has a redzone issue and last week a lot of that could point to not having a RB other than Thad. Losing Chaney and Citizen in August has set this team back a bunch. We will get lucky to see Chaney this year and Citizen by next August. Knowing how much they want to run the ball, they likely should have taken another RB to get us to 6 before August. That is 100% on them especially knowing Chaney hasn’t been healthy since his 10th grade year. They likely were thinking that they didn’t want to sign a kid that would never see the field due to lack of talent compared to Citizen and 2023 kids YET here we are wishing we had another RB.

Second massive factor to our redzone issue (IMO) is the lack of Nelson allowing us to move Campbell to LG and Rivers to RG. 70 got his ass handed to him a ton vs MTSU.

Third massive factor to our redzone issue is not having George and X. No way to fix losing your two best WRs with a limited group to start with.

Fourth factor to our redzone issue is Mallory sucks and shouldn’t get snaps over Arroyo. Arroyo catches the ball, makes moves, is more physical… I’d rather see 37 on the field as our #2 than Mallory.

Lastly, I’m so sick of seeing lazy ass route running. Mallory is one of the worst! He rounds everything and never forces his man to misdirect. Redzone, he doesn’t take a step inside to get his man to turn his hips inside then breaks it to the flat. Instead, he just runs to the flat expecting to be open. Did the same thing on the first INT. He never forced his route inside against the zone giving TVD lots of room to throw the ball to him. Instead he actually drifted too far outside leading TVD into the INT! Know the coverage and adjust your routes! Hell, SIT DOWN in the open ZONE! TVD is as much at fault for throwing into the zone coverage vs throwing the ball away or throwing it to Mallory’s inside shoulder.

You speak truths 90. But let’s not forget to bring up the D. That was an atrocious showing by the D, especially the secondary. They looked lost…

You mean like when Steele put dime personnel on the field against 12 personnel?

The D is 100% due to over-aggressiveness with the DBs in light of not having good enough DL pressure compounded by no LB blitz pressure compounded by one deep safety that doesn’t have the wheels to close.

I could go on and on about personnel choices on D!

12 personnel: Flagg, Steed, Johnson (or JW0 especially if a good TE on other team) matching BIG with BIG! DL: 6/56/90/13 for 12 unless long yardage then 13 would be 12/32/45

10/11 personnel on O:
Wesley over Flagg
Chase over Steed
JW0 OR Gil over Couch at Star

DL:
56/Hunte with 56 getting 60%
6/Miller with 6 getting 60%
90/13 with 90 getting 60-75%
12/45/32 split 33/33/33

DBs
Move TS2 to free, Kam to SS, JW to star, Couch outside and nickle during 10 personnel, play Ivey and Porter at the line with TS2 and Kam in two deep support.

I’d be ok with Curtis, Harris, Graves at CB with TS2 and Kam to clean up the mess. Heck, even Ivey when asked to cover within 20 yards is ok, especially with 2 deep support.

IF it was long yardage 10 personnel, sub Chase for Blades or Couch OR rush 3 removing 6 for Couch thus running a 3-2-6 vs a 4-1-6.

SPEED is how Miami won in the past! We have SPEED that is young but they aren’t on the field (Curtis, Graves,Harris all in the 11second range)! On O, our speed guys are all hurt (Rooster & Citizen -11.3, George - 10.7, Chaney - 10.6).
