You don’t get it. Why would anyone protect information if it were no longer classified? If he declassified it, why didn’t he tell anyone?
You’re literally taking the “he who smelt it dealt it” defense.
I called it. Nuh uh. I called it in my mind.
You de-railed long ago over this moron. But this is par for the course. You’re entirely fine with him walking in on your underage children changing. Hell he could jerk off in front of them and you’d defend him. Admit it.
It depends on the information. The government over classified by nature. You’d be amazed at the inane things they decide to classify.
But it doesn’t matter if I believe it should be protected or not. We have a constitution. It allows us to pick an Executive via an election who makes that decision for us.
Lol- ok.
Stop telling me what I know. There is no accountability.
If someone lower than the president does this? Sure.
The president is different.
In don’t follow.
No idea what this disgusting hypothetical has to do with anything.
This fucking immigrant, who hates other immigrants pretends he knows how MY govt works. Go back to Italy/Caribbean mother fucker. We don’t need your trash here burning our country down.
Sure does. But I’m pretty sure it puts Trump in hot water when after his term end he takes documents with him that are classified without telling anyone he declassified them - with his mind……
Funny. You’d be singing a different tune if this were Biden. Not that you’ll admit it.
Stop lying. You know exactly what I mean.
Yeah. You do.
Blockquote
Can a president secretly declassify information without leaving a written record or telling anyone?
That question, according to specialists in the law of government secrecy, is borderline incoherent.
If there is no directive memorializing a decision to declassify information and conveying that decision to the rest of the government, the action would essentially have no consequence. Departments and agencies would continue to consider that information classified and so would continue to treat it as a closely held secret, restricting access to records containing it.
“Hypothetical questions like ‘What if a president thinks to himself that something is declassified? Does that change its status?’ are so speculative that their practical meaning is negligible,” said Steven Aftergood, a secrecy specialist with the Federation of American Scientists.
He added: “It’s a logical mess. The system is not meant to be deployed in such an arbitrary fashion.”
I don’t even know why I’m trying. Your brain left you long ago.
Why has Trump’s attorneys never issued any words to the notion he declassified the documents at Mara Lago? Only in interviews do they assert anything like that, but it’s just TV. Again, why have the lawyers not once stated any of those documents were declassified by Trump? Also, with the charges listed in the affidavit, the classification has literally nothing to do with the investigation, so…?
In fact, the 11th circuit called the classification issue a red herring
Hell, even the GOPers are admitting publicly he has to follow the procedures to declassify a document if one exists, by law.
You do, however, have a strong penchant for authoritarianism. You really do want to live under a King. Would you like to move? I can get you flight times if your computer is stuck
