Time will tell but I think the old system, where a kid had to sit for a year made more sense.
The way it is now, a kid has a bad day and declares his intent to transfer, goes somewhere else and does the same thing. These are moody, entitled 18, 19, 20 year olds with severe impulse control issues. A lot of them act like selfish jerks. I feel sorry for the coaches that have to put up with their prima donna nonsense.
I understand the portal door swings both ways but it seems to me the current policy is bad for the sport. Constant, endless free agency has its downside for schools and their fans alike IMHO.
I suppose the bottom line is how the coaches feel about the new transfer policy. If they like it, fine. If they hate it, perhaps the NCAA should change it back.
Unfortunately, the block system on this message board sucks. Even if you block someone, they can see and reply to your posts. You won’t see their posts except as “hidden reply”. I blocked Storm and a few others a while back but I wish this board had a real block feature like Twitter does.
Does he really want to come off the bench? Rivers and Cooper are the only two I see starting. Clarke will have a friend at center. Cohen, Samson, Francis are all going to push for starting jobs. Nelson could be coming back around to the idea he needs actual tape post injury.
I can’t see TRaore staying…I consider him a done deal and not even counting him as portal. He would be in his 6th year of school and is a 3rd teamer. He will either graduate or portal.
The possibilities I had from the beginning of offseason on OL were:
Doubted both Campbell and Nelson would stay (hopefully Nelson is now)
Traore and Scaiffe definitely moving on one way or the other…I think Scaiffe has a chance to go in 6tth or 7th round.
