The liberal response is Skinnerian in nature. It’s a form of conditioning that works extremely well with pidgeons, and I suppose equally well with liberal muttonheads. Though I rather like 51, I find that he does not think objectively about things, and rarely if ever admits to being mistaken. To admit fault is very difficult for people who are either sports’ fans or so politically indoctrinated that they are conditioned against learning. It is sort of a validation of Plato’s famous Allegory of the Cave that humans stubbornly believe falsehoods even when the truth is so evident. Such a condition might properly be called hubris, the fatal flaw of Agamemnon.
Some years ago Naomi Schaefer Riley wrote an article as an op-ed writer for the Chronicle of Higher Education that I’ve never forgotten. It was actually a very good article, but highly controversial. Riley took to task graduate schools of education offering doctoral degree in Black Studies. Her primary focus was on the lack of rigor found in dissertations and a similitude of topics treated… Why of course most dissertations were about “racism,” and the canard that white supremacy is greatest ill affecting our society. Riley’s article generated incredible critical response from muttonheads employed by other universities. How could anyone be critical of liberalism’s favorite topic? Riley, who is married to Jason Riley, an editor at the Wall Street Journal, was summarily fired for having the chutzpah to tell the truth.
Black racism in an inviolate subject, and anyone daring even to write about it must be censored and at the very least be declared a racist. My own experience is an example of same regardless of the excellent evidence that supports my premise. I have tread on forbidden ground.
In summer 2020, literally dozens of U.S. cities were convulsed by BLM-motivated riots which killed dozens, destroyed thousands of businesses, saw entire blocks of cities incinerated and likely caused far more terror than all “white supremacist” attacks combined in the past half-century. Even now, every city government in America lives in fear that, should something go wrong, were its police to arrest the wrong person., their city could be gutted by looting, arson, and destruction while many institution dutifully line up to justify the violence. What do you think a business owner in any American city fears more: that a white supremacist will bomb his shop, or that a “mostly peaceful” BLM protest will break out nearby?
