And if that’s true, their most important sacrament is abortion.
They will try, and fail, to pass this measure. But they must try. Because it’s like communion for the Catholic.

Like most things, you don’t use definitions of words, so you’re incorrect.
A religion must have a supernatural aspect to it.
Abortion is about women’s rights. Conservatives have fought against women voting, women in the workforce, women being educated, women’s reproductive rights, even the ERA amendment.
The exciting part is how this has and will galvanize people. There is not anything the God squad could have done that would have done it moreso. Then, you have the NEXT attacks the right wing just can’t stop themselves from going after…same sex marriage, access to emergency contraception, interracial marriage…hell, they might even bring back sodomy laws.
Hmmm…reminds me of something, I just can’t put my finger on
How do you think we drink all that baby blood?
Good point. I like mine with a bit of Yerbamate Lemon. Great mixer.
lol. Hang your hat on that. Dems will get their clocks cleaned in Nov. Total realignment time. Your kooky party is on the ropes. Should be fun to watch. Haha
So first of all- who said liberalism doesn’t have a supernatural aspect to it?
But secondly, and I hate to do this to you again, but “religion” simply is derived from the root word religare which means “to bind” to or to “re-bind”
Essentially religion is showing dedicated, consistent devotion and relationship to something or someone. Doesn’t have to be spiritual. Working out can be religious for some.
I am a conservative, especially with respect to economics. I despise Keynesian economics, because it always fails. I support Trump, because Trump turned out to be a great president whose decisions, especially with regard to foreign policy, were excellent. I align with Republicans, because I believe they are on the right side of most issues.
However, the Republicans are on the wrong side of one great issue: abortion. Abortion is basically a religious moral issue, and I find it completely wrong to deny women their equal rights as Americans. I am against Roe v Wade, because it is a bad decision wherein the court has made an exception to its own Constitution. Abortion is an issue that pertains to the states, and Justice Alito is plainly restoring Constitutional compliance of the court.
Republicans are foolish to rally behind anti-abortionism. In so doing, they act as fascists trying to impose their own sense of morality on all others. People need to tend their own knitting and not be concerned about their neighbors moral behavior.
One of my neighbors is an obstetrician. When I bought my home on Pensacola Beach more than forty years ago, a gang of idiots was demonstrating in front of his home which is very close to mine. A few days later, a Mercedes exactly like my friend’s was blown up by a car bomb. My neighbor an outstanding physician, community citizen, hospital director, and noted art collector gave up the practice of medicine out of fear for his family’s safety. .This same neighbor was a man of considerable wealth owning a string of cancer clinics in the State of Tennessee. In addition, he became interested in land development and presently is the second largest land owner in Walton County, Florda. He’s really a great guy and actually hated performing abortions but felt that often times abortions kept an infant from being born into a miserable, unstable environment.
You’l recall that terrible murders occurred in Pensacola wherein a religious zealot gunned down two persons at a local abortion clinic. The zealot was named Michael Griffin, and when I was an administrative dean, Michael worked in my office as a student assistant. I put him in my office because he was so politically obnoxious and couldn’t get along with his peers. Many times I had to intercede when he got into imbroglios with other student assistants. Michael’s father was a prominent dentist in the community. He was also a gifted student, and apart from his insane religious zealousness, I liked him. Years later Michael became a murder, one of a half dozen I encountered as a school disciplinarian.
Michael was incarcerated at the Federal prison on Egling Air Force Base in Okaloosa County, two counties eat of here. I visited him in prison where he’ll likely remain the rest of his life. Rather than tell more of the story, I’ll refer you to Wikipedia. However, I believe the Republican Party is on the wrong side of this issue.
You have an internal contradiction problem here biik…. Trump certainly allowed the fed and his government to continue the Keynesian economic model. He provided stimulus multiple times and increased the money supply. He even called for negative rates.
One can argue his hand was forced but by no means has he attempted to be a free marketer on monetary policy.
You are right. Trump spent too much. Ultimately, you must pay the piper, although the piper is more easily paid using inflated dollars. In the meantime, we’re just going to have to get used to inflation until the economy cools. At least Trump spent money more prudently than his predecessors and improved economic treaties. Speaking of cooling, I predict a great increase in solar power of homes as the price of electricity becomes extravagantly expensive. Battery technology has to get better. I agree with the left that combustion causes environmental damage at least on the local level and electric cars are the future. However, buying an electric car is foolish unless the battery is warrantied. We also have to survive the Biden travesty. BTW, I use a solar panel to keep the three batteries charged on my bass boat. My boat is like a Corvette on the water, capable of going 90 mph. Hitting a submerged log at full speed is a real concern in my life. The only time I open it up is when I am racing the clock in a fishing tournament then it is “Dam the torpedoes, Gridley.”
Here’s another prediction. Mayorkas will soon resign after doing his share of liberal damage.
And another prediction: Biden will resign purportedly due to ill health by actually due to the Mid-term slaughter and laptop from Hell. Kamala will be be first woman president.
Along with his FAKE tax cuts that will balloon
Guy was literally the WOAT president. The scary part isn’t necessarily him, it is Pandora’s box that doesn’t seem to close with the rwingers.
All things considered Trump is the best president in recent years. His foreign policy was superb. His handling of the border was more effective than that of his predecessor or demented Biden. Trump is beloved by tens of millions of Americans, and he was swindled out of election victory by the worst fraud in American political history. Presently, we’re facing what could turn into a nuclear conflagration which too would have unlikely happened under Trump. Even Noam Chomsky praises Trump for his stand on Ukraine. In contrast to Obama and Biden, Trump has also been a spectacular success in the business world whether in real estate or even in the entertainment business. Were an election held today, Trump would easily prevail given the abject failure of the Biden regime.
Biden’s economic policy will take us into recession. Cancelling student loans is an affront to taxpayers, especially those who worked diligently and repaid their debts. If student loans are cancelled, those who paid should be issued refund checks. The world is still petrochemical dependent, and Biden took us from energy independence to begging dictators to sell us oil. Furthermore, Biden is violating immigration laws with impunity, enough so to grease the skids for impeachment after the Big Red Wave happens in November.
Thankfully, Build Back Better has been stalled in Congress. Had these measures passed, things would be even worse today. What needs to be done is to curtail federal spending, leave the Trump tax cuts alone. Stop printing money. Reduce federal spending and regulation. Were we to do this, the market would settle itself. Prices will adjust through market demand not by decisions of the Federal Reserve. If ever a nation needed Trump, it is today.
This is such a dumb statement. What are the Dems on the ropes over, winning the last election? Constantly winning the popular vote?
Yes, the Midterms should swing to the Pubs. That is business as usual and totally expected. To believe that signals the end of the Democrat party is fooling yourself.
This is true. This also displays why there is so much hypocrisy in politics, on both side. Republicans don’t care about abortion, they care about activating the religious right. So they will look past their ideals of government overreach in order to get more votes.
^ Who is this poster?!?
They are becoming more radical and exposing themselves. They used to hide it better. The battle lines are now clearly drawn. The indoctrination in schools doesn’t play well with moderates and many Democrats. Hispanics are not as strong with Dems and neither are Blacks. People hate that the border is wide open and the Dems don’t seem to care. Inflation is going to cause real problems and we are potentially going to be in a recession in the not too distant future. Things swing from election to election but this one has the makings of a complete rout.
Some politicians use it to their advantage, for sure. I would contend that the Left doesn’t really care about maintaining abortion rights either. Remember when they had a super majority in 2009 and could have codified it into law when Obama was President? They love to use it as a voting motivator as well.
The abortion debate isn’t new. There have been abortions throughout history in civilizations all over the world.
We have a 2-party system! The battle lines were always abundantly clear!
All this stuff you’re saying doesn’t mean anything. Sam shit, different year.
Eh, seems different this year. I know, ebb and flow of politics. Swings here and there.
Not every mid-term has a wipe out. I’m saying there is a high probability that the Dems get crushed this year. And my response was to DJ’s crowing about the energized left.
Care to actually opine on that instead of whining about how this year is normal?
You think this is like any other mid-term year?
I do. Americans will, by and large, vote based on the economy. And as the sitting presidential party, Dems will perform poorly in the Midterms, which will galvanize a push toward the 2024 presidential election. Impossible to predict what will happen then as I believe the candidates are wide open.
Not really. This year, we have people like you folks, who openly support attacking our country and want to dismantle our laws, our Constitution and support the goals of Russia…to eliminate faith in our institutions.
We haven’t had such a band of open traitors like you Trumpkins in a long time.
King of projection here. So you do agree that it is different this year.
We just disagree on which side is pushing the folks in the middle to take notice.
I think the right is making a mistake with the Roe vs. Wade
There aren’t too many people I know…Even if they find abortion to be bad business, or scary, or disgusting, or wouldn’t go through with it themselves or request it from a spouse…Want to see it be outlawed. Now I may know more people like that if I lived deep in conservative territory for instance, but just saying.
I think they can lose the middle on this, and I believed before this they were clearly winning the middle. (I mean how could they not).
