More plausible is that he was a gazillionaire who donated to politicians, charity’s, and nonprofits which helped him gain notarity, fame, and granted him access to people in that are usually inaccessible to most.

There’s plenty of pictures of both Trump and Clinton hanging with him. Perhaps both engaged in highly questionable behavior. Perhaps not.

I think it’s pretty obvious Epstein’s ring was a widescale intelligence operation and plenty of politicians were involved, even if not directly. Epstein’s entire job was schmoozing the rich and powerful.
