Not necessarily. There is law in the federal code prohibiting picketing in front of a judge’s home if the intent of the crowd is to influence the judge in discharging his/her duty. However, interpretation of this law could be problematic and dependent on the judge before whom the issue is brought. Additionally, there are state and local laws as well as neighborhood restrictive covenants against picketing in front of judges’ residences. The state laws are more rigorous in the State of Maryland than in Virginia. If the behavior of the crowd is not violent and not raucous, officials might elect not to pursue action against protestors to avoid the long litigation process.
The tweet of the day: Thomas Sowell@ThomasSowell. “One of the bittersweet things about growing old is realizing how mistaken you were when you were young. As a young political leftist, I saw the left as the voice of the common man. Nothing could be further from the truth.”
I disagree that Twitter is not redeemable. Under good management, it could become a cash cow once the millions of subscribers are monetized. Elon has a good record of performance and thinking outside of the box. I see Musk privatizing the company, creating income streams, then taking it public again through an IPO wherein he’d float only a portion of the existing shares, recovering his purchase price while retaining a controlling interest in the company. Conceivably, he’ll make more billions of dollars.
Of course, Djrion is in favor of censorship. Liberals are the great censors among us. He favors much the same strategy as Plato and his ill-fated Republic which actually was tried in Siracusa, Italy. Society according to Plato should be governed (controlled) by the elite known as philosopher kings in which category he included himself. Plato was this world’s first communist.
just a heads up. It’s bad form to repeatedly say someone has dementia when you show symptoms yourself!
But jokes aside, bikki, you have claimed to be a student of the market. What is your opinion on what’s going on with Musk’s deal. You still think he ends up buying Twitter?
You mean, despite the fact the Republicans are actually using the government to censor private speech from citizens and corporations at the same time, diametrically opposing the 1st amendment?
One day, you might go a whole day without lying. I have a feeling it won’t be until you’re in the ground, but still…counts, right?
The only thing he’s an expert in is insecurity. Anyone who praises himself the way he does, in the volume he does, has HUGE demons inside he can’t deal with. Very much trying to show his value, but what he doesn’t get it he’s not showing it to us…he’s trying to show it to himself. Pretty transparent unless you’re going through it, I guess. Narcissism is just the outward projection of miles of self doubt and insecurity.
