Wilson has been on fire tonight

Dabo screaming for his job.

It’s about time!

Fake the FG! :joy:

The secondary… :roll_eyes::roll_eyes::roll_eyes::roll_eyes::roll_eyes:

Good lord the secondary is bad. Need to get some players back before we get lit up by a passing team.

Dabo kicking the 1pt PAT?

Why do you question the extra point?

Miami needs to be sure to score on this drive. Don’t give Clemson any hope of a comeback

Yeah, man this secondary is not good right now. Mack getting beat, O’Connor with some weak tackle attempts, Thorton can’t cover anyone.

We HAVE to get a long drive with some points. Can’t let this QB beat us. Step up!!

It feels like they have some momentum and why not get to being down by 13.?

Opportunities for points are scarce.

two TDs wins it

I absolutely LOVE how Mallory runs the rock

We should have run it on 3rd and 2 the last time, don’t know why we didn’t…

Good stop on the D, now just run the clock out.

UNC will be a good game. They are better than Clemson and ole Bill can still coach.

I have to say that this game was a much needed game for us to show some grit and the ability to finish a game strong. I like how we finished the game. And we did it without Toney.

I wish we could have laid half a hundred on them

F Clemson

Hope the team can rest up and recover with this bye week. Need to also develop the secondary with more knowledge and practice.

Some thoughts post game.

Injuries. Wow. I mean, talk about getting bit by the bug. Incredibly frustrating as a fan to see a team so loaded with talent get stung with so many injuries. Not making excuses, but everyone has made the observation I’m sure. Besides, there’s plenty to clean up to worry about needing excuses.

The first 4th & 1 in the second half that wasn’t converted. I didn’t like it. D was doing well enough. Yeah, I may feel differently had they converted, but I said at the time I’d rather punt in that particular instance. Didn’t kill us. Was not surprised in the least Mario did that. He’s consistent. Tried again shortly after and converted iirc.

Zone D seemed to really get preyed upon. Mostly shorter stuff but to the same areas time and time again at will. Disappointing. On the bright side, so many defensive backs getting time forced on them you’d have to think this pays off in some way down the road for the program. And while Clemson isn’t at their peak, the kids did hold them to minimal points, big plays (most on one or two scoring drives), and had a pick 6. My wife asked me a few weeks back what jersey I’d want from this team, and I said Dunnigan. I have an Aunt from his hometown so I was excited when we recruited him. He’s blowing away any expectations I had for him, and it seems the buzz around him has steadily increased since he committed. I’m happy with my biased choice thus far.

I thought the LB’s were as good as they were bad last night. See zone defense comments previously, yet they also made some plays and really delivered some punishment. Team tackling overall left a bit to be desired.

The defensive line has really gotten going. Consistent pressure. Had a 3 rush sack. Could have had double digit sacks had they finished. Lost contain a few times, and credit to the Clemson qb. He ran for his life all night, got utterly pummeled, still extended and made plays numerous times or this game was an absolute woodshed beating. Herb Scroggins III almost killed the kid with a barely legal frog splash sack. That was in maybe the second quarter and was the third (I think) time it happened already by UM lineman. Unreal! I hope Jason Taylor stays a long long time. Also worried about Lightfoot. He was great until he wasn’t playing anymore…???

Penalties were absolutely atrocious. 65 yards and -6 points on one play for procedure bullshit. And on and on. However, every single review went our way (correctly) and seeing the acc lead out with their speed, efficiency and transparency in replay is truly a thing of beauty. The sec is doing it now but taking 2 minutes seemingly each instance. Bravo to the acc for that.

First non touchback kickoff I recall us having this year and a big return. Crowd silenced after that thankfully.

I’m a little surprised they don’t give Mensah easy rolls and throw / run options either rb’s te’s etc. Not that I’m looking for him to take hits but especially in short mid to mid yardage situations on 3rd downs. Will McPatland / Bubba Franks type plays. I saw a dozen of them around the country yesterday, and I swear each time it was money. Although it seemed to just feel that physical run game would pay off eventually last night and it certainly did. They mauled until Clemson couldn’t anymore. That was outstanding to see. Fletcher is such a friggin prize horse. He’s a stud and seemingly a fantastic team mate. I hope he wins some awards this year. His Mom is so much fun.

I was disappointed Miami didn’t just bury this game by mid second quarter. Nitpicking, maybe? But great teams do that. Especially given the stops they had, the quieting of the crowd, and the chances they had to finish Clemson early. Still too much sloppiness when attention to detail is required and it’s happening at very inopportune moments. A championship level team can’t do that. I do believe given the base they have in talent and what’s been shown so far that coaching can fix a lot, if not all of this. Just gotta stay healthy. Yikes

Edit: Also some credit to Clemson. They got pumped but played hard and made Miami fight for it. Other than that, fuk them.

God it’s so much more fun when they are winning. Long may it last.

And while I’m at it a tip of the cap to the UM administration that finally got serious about football. Not crowning anyone here but the difference is obvious. Facilities. Recruiting. Coaching talent. Everything is trending.

Miami may very well be a case study when looking back at how the early days of NIL were managed / mismanaged or even misinterpreted by other institutions. They were serious about the opportunity. It could put them level. They set up the entities, procedures, and workflows to fully utilize this new system. It appears to be working and winning has to be such a massive boon.

This is all jmo, but I hope to see them continue at the forefront and shape it because college football is ever evolving, whether I like that or not. Being irrelevant can’t be good for whatever the next phase is. I want the Miami brand to be part of it. I’ll always love my Alma mater.

Go ‘Canes!!!
