Class of 2022 Defense Board!

Same drill as past years…Looking for legit 2 way interest or a strong tri-county player that I think will have UM Interest at Some point

DT 2-3.… I think 3 is needed. But I say that all the time. Some possible 3 techs in the DE group below as well. Not sure what type of front CMC plans to run just yet.

Former cane Anthony Moten’s little brother…Stock is on the rise and senior tape looks good.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/13237006/Christen-Miller (GA)
New name and CMC seems to be making up ground quickly. Will visit in January. Tape looks excellent.

DE 3…

Definitely need 3 imo…But we usually go to the portal for at least 1 Huge local class…Led by 4 headed monster of Stewart, Jackson, Kelly, Jones

https://www.hudl.com/profile/11522842/Shemar-Stewart
Rated the top player in Florida…And a top 5 player in the country by everyone. Prototype. Kids as big as him aren’t supposed to be that explosive. May grow into 3 Tech DT. UM’s top overall target

https://www.hudl.com/profile/11757882/Nyjalik-Kelly UM Commit
1A with Stewart…Must get. Huge Commit for UM

https://www.hudl.com/profile/11052916/Cyrus-Moss (NV) UM Commit
UM getting late visit and Oregon was heavily involved. 6’5 or so with lanky frame and tons of potential.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/12737334/R-Mason-Thomas
CMC offers…Had big senior season. Relentless, but may be his best as 3-4 OLB?

https://www.hudl.com/profile/9235987/Jack-Pyburn > Minny Commit
Bolles School kid gets late offer reminds me of Halten from Cali above. Big kid and wrestler but can really run and maybe stays on the edge. Especially if we are going to a 3-4 look. Plays violent.

LB/Striker…2-3

No idea what type of scheme new DC will play. Almost no one in CFB is still using a traditional 4-3 vs. spread offenses. We have a couple of interesting players that couldn’t see the field under Diaz that I wouldn’t give up on just yet. Portal may factor in here as well.

Big timer. But new coaching hire has heavy Central/MNW ties. Puts on clinics at camps running and covering backhand WRs. Runs/Diagnoses/Strikes. One of best backers in nation.

CB - 3

Hell maybe even 4…Praying to all gods DJ Ivey is passed and transfers at some point. (Update: He’s baaaack)

Junior Season. (MS) UM Commit
Possibly staff’s top target. Nice to get into SEC country!

https://www.hudl.com/profile/11286942/Chris-Graves UM COMMIT
(ATH) Malik Curts’s teammate…They grow em fast down there apparently. Just as impressive as WR but wants to play defense. Excellent speed and length and one of my favorites from this year.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/12042525/Jaden-Harris > UM Commit
Late bloomer…Senior tape was excellent.

.-------------------------------------

Safety 1-2

Deep local class, but landed top 2 in SoFla last season…Probably looking for just one here unless the 2nd is Wilson

https://www.hudl.com/profile/11479964/Markeith-Williams UM Commit
Near the top of UM’s board. Soph tape more impressive than Jr. year in which he played with a broken wrist and cast all season. Like him a lot, nice get.

Couldn’t wait to do DBs this year as it’s my favorite position to analyze and to watch. T-Rob should get things going here. No idea why some of the hudls are a visual link and some aren’t.

Formatted more old school…Removed pictures because I think this is better for quick reference/organization.

yes please on Daniel Lyons. been checking out his hudl and i’m impressed.

Bump…Some updates for de-commits, commits elsewhere, and emerging targets.

Man I hope Marvin Jones and Stewart pay attention to the Miami De’s getting drafted this year. We need those 2 guys bad. Would play right away.

FYI re: Corner board update here late May…We are seemingly doing very well with kids at top outside of Little

Just made the below post on CIS but as of now…

Gun to my head I like him (Feagans) better than Khamuri Rogers but either would be a hell of a pull

Tier 1
Graves
Spells
Feagans
Allen
Rogers
Possible one of these guys plays safety? Allen has tenacity and all around ball skills for sure. Feagans maybe is a kid that plays both…Not like we NEED a safety. Little would be in this group as well but I think both sides just seem to be fading here as he is likely Bama bound.

Tier 1 or 2
Mullen? - not sure where he stands

Tier 2
J.Henderson
Cull
C.Miller
Not sure we need to list too many tier 2 types as it seems like we are leading for kids at the top! I wouldn’t mind seeing Celestine from Palmetto looked at as a slot corner.

Refreshing not to be scrambling around tier 3 in early December!!

names to add…

Darius Dee Thomas-Miramar- 6’3-190 -holds early offers from Texas A&M and FIU. Went to FIU camp and performed well…expect him to receive more offers. Could end up at LB

Jai Celstine - not the biggest kid (5’9-165-170) - probably the best pound for pound prospect in Florida. Known as G7 by everyone around the program…Jai is a flat out hit stick. He will knock someone into next week. He can also be a very good slot receiver and special teams prospect.

He’s on the offense board, I like him better on defense too. Tx

Some 6/12 updates and cleanup

Skeeter, is there a method behind the way you list those guys? your favorites / chances they come to UM? or is it random?

Random…I’d say top targets have a chance of being listed more towards the top, but really that isn’t gospel either.

80’s guy Thomas worked out for UM coaches today.

Quick breakdown on my guess of UM Back 7 Boards…Including only what I consider to be updated, realistic candidates

CB:

-Top group, In if they want…
Rogers (Commit)
Fegans
Graves
Spells
Singletary

Would have decisions with the middle 3 if all 5 want in(obviously they won’t/don’t)…I do think they make room for 4. So basically the true “in no matter what” of the group are Rogers anddddd I would say Singletary

-Next group, they really like but may have to wait on the top 5
Allen
Cull
C. Miller
J.Henderson
D.Henderson

I wouldn’t be shocked if one of those 5 are in this class…For a couple of them (Allen/Cull/Miller) it helps their cause that they may be able to move around to nickel or even safety. I don’t see a scenario where we can fit both Henderson twins, and I believe J’Cari is preferred

-Backup plans, also on board
Mullen
J-A-C (probably wishful thinking on my part, but damn he’d make a good nickle, albeit undersized)

LB/Striker:

Distinguishing between 2nd and 3rd groups are a little trickier here and a lot of it may come down to if we are taking 2 or 3. Did not include Ish Smith/Harold Perkins from Texas, because I think they may be done deals elsewhere.

-In if they want
Blissainthe
Tolan
D.Jackson (not sure, but I believe he can commit)
Covil (Sounds like done deal to Clemson)

-High on board, may be waiting on top group
J.Thomas (love this kid, hope he’s actually in the top group and hope he’s a cane)- Striker

-Probable backup plans, but not sure
A.Rice (Striker)
Spencer (Striker)
O.Graham
K.Mcloud

Safety:

I would guess taking 0-1. The board at this time appears to be down to 2, although maybe they circle back on Hallandale. Love the Perkins-Mcallister kid from TN as well, no idea if 2 way interest is still going on there.

K.Wilson
M.Williams (Willams may have to wait on Wilson, but staff seems to love both)

Cull is getting some crystalballs…Very versatile, could see him at corner or safety.

Whiffing on both Tolan and Thomas at LB and LB/Striker hurts.

Cleaned up for mid summer.

Bumped…Up to date for fall.

Updating/trimming for current rumors, commits elsewhere, and gameday visitors.

Need to land Blissainthe and Kelly despite the loss to FSU.

IMO, it’s not going to happen.
