I’m a moderate. I’m not pretending. I don’t agree with most extreme leftism and I don’t agree with most extreme rightism.
Just because I’m moderate doesn’t mean I need to be “middle” or “neutral” on every single issue. I can and do have opinions.
I’m not placating anybody in this thread. I am saying the FBI did exactly what they should have done. Hell, they should have raided Mar-a-Lago earlier if Trump wasn’t cooperating. This whole thing took too damn long.
I think you and me are saying the same thing. I doubt Biden DIRECTLY ordered the raid because he’s a savvy enough politician to think about optics. He probably had an idea it would happen, and maybe stronger than that. I also agree that it doesn’t much matter because the legal process was respected.

I don’t pretend to appeal to them, though. I legitimately agree at rare times, usually when the view in question is on the less extreme side of the equation, and that’s usually not so much agreeing with the extreme right so much as disagreeing with the extreme left.
GSC’s position is that Biden ordered the FBI raid and it wouldn’t have happened otherwise. I do not agree with that, as I think it’s more likely Biden knew those optics would be bad.
GSC’s position is that the document GWP posted is evidence that Biden ordered the raid. I strongly disagree because all it’s evidence of is that Biden authorized the FBI to examine the documents Trump handed over. It has nothing to do with a raid.
In fact, I don’t agree with GSC in this thread at all.
However, I do agree with you that, even if Biden did directly order the raid, it’s not a big deal because it went through the proper legal channels and authorization.
Which I conceded as well. Let’s be real, none of us actually know what happened behind the scenes. It’s possible Biden ordered the raid and there’s no reason for me to die on a hill claiming he didn’t, but I can give my opinion that, while it’s possible, I think he’s smarter than that.

Why didn’t the Justice Department seek a judicial order mandating Trump to turn over documents? The Justice Department has a lot splaining to do justifying their actions as being no better than what Lavrenti Beria did in Soviet Russia. I believe the government went on a fishing expedition to discover a crime, and the affidavit was one of such breadth that it may well have violated the 4th Amendment. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have this special master ruling which Justice is now appealing. It’s hard not to conflate the administration’s case as being precipitated by politics. Surely, Biden knew about the raid in advance. If he didn’t, he’s more out of touch with reality than even I suspected. It’s quite natural for Trump supporters to believe the entire matter was part of the nearly six year persecution of Trump and the mania to preclude his running for the presidency in 2024.
Both Gardenstate and Skeeter have a right to be skeptical of what transpired, and even to put forth their suspicions about implausibility of Biden’s noninvolvement. IMO, Trump will be indicted on a nebulous charge such as obstruction of justice. However, Justice will have to weigh their own risk of culpability when Trump lawyers engage in discovery.
Lastly, we as a forum need to upgrade our insults and eschew immature argumentation. Disagreeing with someone should not devolve into hatred. There’s not a soul in this room with which I don’t share the kinship of being a UM football fan. We really need to cast higher quality aspersions at one another. In retrospect, I find myself somewhat ashamed at calling Dj and Warden cunts, but I smile to myself writing this.

However, if there were laws broken and enough evidence is there to attempt conviction, they need to do so. I said the same thing for BLM $10m scandal.
