What mayhem Biden has loosed on earth. NATO is going to fracture due to the eroding European economy’s dearth of energy. Industries will be shut down, unemployment will rise, electricity will be rationed, and a cold winter is in store for Europeans. Already there are demonstration in the streets which engender little notice in our press, but all the elements are there for extreme restive behavior and rash dissatisfaction with present governance. Along with NATO, the EU may itself come apart.
The most compelling recent news is that Saudi Arabia is moving away from the American sphere of influence, due I think to the idiot trying restore the nuclear agreement with Iran. The Saudi are reducing production in their role with OPEC to ramp up prices paid for energy. Support of Ukraine will grow weaker as social discord and privation will erode previous zeal to support a war that for Ukraine is absolutely unwinnable. One need only to ask oneself whether there is any morality in what promises to be greater loss of Ukrainian lives, severe injuries, and destruction of Ukraine’s infrastructure.
The winter of discontent will not only relegated to Europe. New England states will experience rationing of electric power this winter along with severe shortages of heating oil which will be sold at extravagant prices. The entire country will see emptier shelves in our stores due to the worst shortage of diesel fuel in many years. Prediction for the price of gasoline in March 2023 is pegged by experts at $8 a gallon.
All this insanity is due to lack of leadership, especially in the US as Biden is exceeding Obama as our worst president in history. However, Europe must also assume blame for globalist leaders who are completely out of step with their constituencies. Islam is of course a menace everywhere, but presently, the more dangerous religion is that of climate change. We’ve entered a period of irrationality, attempting to punish civilization in exchange for goals that are unattainable. Hopefully, a great step in returning our nation back to sanity will occur in the mid-term elections which hopefully will result in the predicted Red Wave.
Russia does in fact have the best land army on earth. It also has a great technological advantage in development of missile systems and anti-missile protection. If a war were to breakout today against Russia, the U.S. would have a shortage of weapons, so much has been sent to Ukraine. Russia has the capability of wiping out the entire U.S. fleet of aircraft carriers within fifteen minutes time, and we presently do not have a defense against these Russian weapons. U.S. still has no hypersonic weapons. Russia would even fare better in a nuclear war as it has a superior missile defense system
Biden could stop the war today, but Russia would dictate the terms. It would save Ukrainian lives and probably save the EU from fracturing. Ukraine cannot make war without U.S. weapons which incidentally are running low. Ukraine transportation has been crippled. It has a critical shortage of diesel fuel to run trucks and tanks. Already thirty percent of its electrical capacity is interrupted. Ukraine also has a shortage of food.
Putin has conducted this war sparing civilian deaths, not attacking the major cities, and preserving infrastructure. With the bombing of Nordstream likely by the UK or US and the bombing of the Kerch Bridge, Russia has changed course ended the SMO, and has appointed a hardline general to command the entire operation. If Russia, has to send one million soldiers into Ukraine it will do so. Putin is wildly popular in Russia. His biggest criticism among Russians is not being aggressive enough in Ukraine. His support is estimated by American experts at 80 per cent. There are no shortages of food in Russia.
Biden started this war by encouraging Zelensky to send a huge army into the Donbas which is ethnically Russian. Biden exacerbated the war by getting allies to sanction Russian, which has had little affect on Russia but has instead caused economic woes in Europe that are so destructive that a depression is now imminent. Biden guaranteed Russia’s success by standing in the way of domestic energy production, and betraying Saudi Arabia by restoring the moronic nuclear deal Obama structured with Iran.
You’re either senile (probably) or trolling (likely). How can you possibly say this based on what has happened so far?
No, the wouldn’t.
Yet they’ve been getting their ass handed to them by a country the size of Texas. Ok.
This is patently false.
So……you mean……Russia would just continue doing what they wanted. Which means Biden cannot stop the war unless getting involved directly, which we don’t have an appetite for.
Jesus Christ you’re more than wrong.
Is that why Russian men are flocking to the border trying to flee?
What the fuck does this have to do with Putin’s goal of gaining all the land he believes belongs to the old country?
I don’t think you’ve listened to anyone lucid. But you clearly aren’t lucid, either.
I ask again (you won’t answer): why do you support Putin?
In a perfect world where this situation wasn’t a zero sum game I’d agree.
The problem is that the United States has 2 choices.
Iran
Saudi Arabia
Why?
Shi’a
Sunni
Ok- what’s the big deal?
15% of Muslims
85% of Muslims
Oh anything else?
Saudi Arabia has the 2 holiest areas in Islam in its borders (Mecca and Medina)
Iran has none.
Additionally Sunni’s and Shia’s hate one another and are prone to kill one another (and their allie’s) similar to Protestants and Catholics for generations.
So, who we pick as a strategic partner matters…. Because if we’re on the wrong side of that equation when an Islamic hegemony emerges…. We’re fucked.
I thought the whole point of pulling out of Afghanistan was to “GTFO of the Middle East” right?
And the Saudis are clearly just using us. They don’t even like us. Let’s not even bring up 9/11.
Tough talk against China isn’t free. Tough talk against Saudi Arabia isn’t free. But I’m fine with the growing pains. I’m NOT fine with screwing ourselves over, of course, but how exactly would we be doing that?
As time passes, it has become more evidently clear that many of you have been successfully conned into believing a monstrous fiction about what is really happening in Ukraine. You’re under the misapprehension that Putin is a manifestation of evil incarnate when actually he has been Russia’s greatest president and has stewarded in great prosperity in Russia.
I fully understand how you’ve arrived at this opinion due to the Neocons who have occupied for years key positions in our Department of State whose hatred for Russia has been ceaseless. Add to this, the complete fabrications produced by Western media creating this villainous view of Russia. The West has been victorious in only one aspect of the Ukrainian conflict, and that is in creating better propaganda. In case it has not occurred to you, peace and unification of Western Civilization should be the goal of all Western nations.
There are numerous very erudite volumes pertaining to the extraordinary modernization of the Russian armed forces as well as recognition of clear Russian technological superiority in many weapon system, in particular missiles and anti-missile protection devices. How many of you have read any of these books?
Larry Johnson writes an interesting article that I hope you’ll at least consider, if not believe they have a modicum of accuracy. His is an article that the left would not want you to read, so take up your right as an American, read it, and form your own opinions.
But @bikki228 thinks Russia has the greatest land army in Europe. Nevermind tons of his soldiers are deserting and Russian men are fleeing the country en masse.
I’m confuse as to how Bikki even likes America at this point.
Putin is the champion, in their eyes, of white power, anti Islam, anti woke, anti gay, and a “strong” leader. An authoritarian with misogynistic and homophobic views, plays on the whim of antisemitism (Zelensky is a globalist working with Soros and the Clintons - as per Wendy Rogers/AZ). It’s been pushed for quite a while, along with Orban of Turkey, on the right. It’s a much longer answer involving the Council for National Policy and their Christian Fundamentalists, the demographics changing to limit GOP opportunity in the future, and their need to build a different system to preserve their power. So, rather than working within our Representative Democracy, they have their opportunity now (with Trump) to literally destroy the American system of government and build another more favorable to their future. To them, there is no future in voting.
