It is amazing the excuses the right is making in their defense of insurrectionists. So far, from this board I’ve heard:
-It was all BLM/ANTIFA
-The Trump supporters who were there were peaceful and standing outside
-All Trump supporters were not armed.
-The police were complicit and let them in.
-Pence and company were not in any danger
-“This wouldn’t have happened if the election were not stolen,” which is tacit approval for the violence at the capital resulting in 5 deaths.
-Babbit wasn’t armed so her killing is unjustified
Not one mention of accountability from everyone on the right, all the way up to Trump for fanning these flames for months.
There’s a reason the GOP is tearing itself apart right now. And best of luck in 2024 should a large number of GOPers break away and join Trump’s new party - if that ever materializes.
