That said - put yourself in that moment. Thousands of people literally breaking and pushing their way in with various weapons. Clearly shouting to storm the capital. Yelling HANG MIKE PENCE.

Maybe we watched different footage of the event. “Thousands of people” didn’t go into the capital. It was about a couple of hundred people.
And I think it’s pretty clear it was a mixture of clowns (operatives acting) and people who went in just walking around. We’re they idiots for doing it? Yes. But they didn’t pose a threat. You can see that in the posture of the officers surrounding them.
In any event, I didn’t see a justified reason why Babbit was shot and killed. She wasn’t provocative. She wasn’t armed. She didn’t make a threat. She didn’t lunge at anyone. She didn’t scream or cause a scene.
She was taking a selfie.

Why was she the only one shot? It appears in the video that only one shot was needed, as everyone either a) stood down or b) knelt down to help her.
And in that scenario - she did not have to be armed.
