To be fair, you have said that literally everything is a conspiracy before. I believe your minimum requirements were a secret plot between 2+ people. A secret black ops detachment on the ground would definitely qualify.
To QSC, everything is a conspiracy. Shit - he probably gets his mind twisted in conspiracy knots when someone so much as puts onions in his burger after he ordered it with none.
@djrion The first thing I think is that Newsweek is clickbait tabloid trash.
Reading the article, I suppose nothing stands out as dishonest. I haven’t heard about those developments in Moscow. But something everyone should know is that all of these Soviet cities were built with bomb shelters everywhere. Most of these city centers were developed post-WWII and during the Cold War when they were worried about an American nuclear strike. Kyiv has bomb shelters everywhere, and you could see signs directing people to them last year, before the invasion.
It’s true that the Kremlin is signaling a longterm commitment to the war. Between the mobilization, wartime economy, missile strikes, annexations, and refusal to retreat form Kherson, they are putting on a bold front.
At the same time, they are repeatedly signaling that they would like to negotiate. They would rather do this while they can keep up their missile barrage, and while they still hold Kherson, etc. Their position is weakening.
However, we shouldn’t expect Russia to fold in a few months. At the very least, they want to wait out the winter to put pressure on Europe, they want to wait out the midterms to see if anything changes (unlikely), they want to complete the longterm troop mobilization to see if that helps issues, and they want to see if they can source other PGMs from Iran and other places.
I don’t think Russia will even consider stopping the war until Spring.
They were top-tier in the 90s. Their coverage of the Gulf War was amazing.
Anyway, not much is happening on the front lines. Everybody’s talking about winter, but the fall mud season and rainy weather is bogging things down for everybody.
A coordinated attack by Ukrainian marine drones struck 2 vessels of Russia’s Black Sea fleet, including the Makarov, the replacement flagship after the Moskva was sunk.
In a strange move that suggests the damage was impossible to cover up, Russia admitted to the attacks. They claim the Royal Navy trained Ukraine forces to pilot marine drones we’ve heard a lot about (but don’t tell that to GSC. He’s under the impression that the backward Ukrainians don’t know how to use a remote control.)
Dude- I’m not going to cry if the Ukrainians pulled some of this shit off lol. I just think the safer bet is Americans pretending to be Ukrainians.
But quick question. Why do you trust Russian details here? Do you think they can’t benefit in some way by claiming the Ukrainians took these actions? Disinfo 101 no?
Like I said before, having an opinion is fine. There very well may be Western black ops taking place.
But acting like it’s obvious, like Ukrainian SOF is not capable, etc. I can’t get on board with.
I never trust Russian details. But they very much benefit by claiming NATO is directly involved, and have done so through their media arm many times. My point here is that even they aren’t going as far as you. And my other point is that Ukraine is very capable of this. When we were discussing the bridge attack, you seemed to think it would be impossible for a drone to be piloted without special forces on the ground, yet we see these DEEP in the Sevastopol harbor being piloted remotely. This is a Russian military base, which is more secure than a public bridge. We have camera footage which is proof of a remote connection. My advice to you is don’t believe everything you hear about Russian countermeasures.
How curious it is for you to live in a world where monsters are under the bed and everyone is out to trick you, everything in the world being a grand conspiracy. Mental health treatment is available, just saying
