Yeah, that’s how I feel as well. Why come to UM if all we do is grab a portal QB each year to be QB1? But, in this win NOW college football world it doesn’t see anyone has time to groom anyone?
First big contributor I remember in a while staying at this program. Not sure what his NFL stock looks like or rb’s at all for that matter. Sure is nice to have him back though. Gives me the Frank Gore vibes with the mom connection, hometown product stuff. The “mom pull” may have struck twice with him for UM here.

Most pundits have Byrum Brown transferring through the portal to Auburn. Brown would really be a nice fit at Miami. Can you imagine a backfield with Brown and Mark Fletcher. In the right program, Brown is Heisman material. I still like Sorsby the best though the word is that he’s going to Indiana. Another one moving up my chart is Josh Hoover. Just don’t take Lagway.
On the flip side, the Texas RB Quintrevion Wisner rumored to the portal. Kid was their leading rusher in back-to-back seasons. Now, they do have a new RB coach (from the Gators). But, dang, hard to believe that Texas can’t come up with coin to keep this guy. If they won’t would that not be a warning sign to other potential teams?
In QB news James Madison quarterback Alonza Barnett III hitting the portal. And UNLV quarterback Anthony Colandrea as well, this after bolting Virginia to UNLV last year.

Not all portal is good news. Simpson flashed and played a fair amount for a true frosh DT. Pretty much everyone loved Schott out of HS and I think he can be a player.
Why would Simpson leave? This seems like a team he’d wanna be on to get a lot of visibility.
Someone tell Derrek Cooper and James Johnson to get in the portal! Yeah, I know they’re not at Texas yet but I want ‘em HERE.

Emory Williams just hit the portal. I’m not sad at all.
He did. I don’t think his measurables are close to his older brother’s though.
I doubt they win the case, but what if they do? Is there a contingency plan?

Other than Schott and Simpson, no real losses so far.
As far as Emory goes…he really proved to be a true Cane. Can’t knock the guy for showing up prepared each week. He just didn’t have the skill set that we needed. Rumor is East Carolina for him. I wish him well!
