Per the Herald Ray Ray Joseph is going into the portal. Would have been shocked had he not.
Now, who is next…

DT Daylan Russell to portal
Great! Here goes the DT’s again, Ha! I think we will just have to portal poach DT’s from now until eternity.
Nothing wrong with that…And most didn’t like the Russell take when he committed.
I mean, I would be shocked if we didn’t lose 10 portal players and the number imo will probably be between 12 and 17 if I had to guess
In the other direction the news is that both Dylan Raiola and DJ Lagway are hitting the portal. First of many I assume.
Mestamaker is who I hope we could get but I just have a feeling we are getting Raoila. no sources, but just a feeling
I thought the word on the street was we were going hard after Leavitt?
From what I have seen with Raiola I have not been impressed. Also through the rumor mill not many teammates are upset with him leaving.
Ny Carr gone (for real this time, pump faked last winter)
I saw that the qb from north Texas is in portal. I believe someone on the boards said he would be a good option for Miami.
I hope the hell Mario passes on Lagaway. He was awful this year. While under pressure, he reacted like a deer in the headlights, throwing the ball downfield in desperation to avoid being tackled. Furthermore, this may be my opinion, but he looked sullen sitting on the bench, not exhibiting any sort of eagerness to get back in the game. Though a five star HS player, I predict he will be no better than mediocre in the college game. ABSOLUTLY pass on Lagaway. I’d be depressed were Mario to sign him.
My first choice is now Brendan Sorsby from Cinncinati. I elevate him over Sam Leavitt fearing that Leavitt may be a tad brittle, and too subject to injuries. Sorsby has great passing stats, but most impressive is the fact he rushed for 580 yards this season. Word is he may be headed back to Indiana from where he transferred to Cinncinati. Mario should snag this guy. He’s a rugged player similar to Haynes King at Ga Tech.
A healthy Sam Leavitt is now my second choice owing to his penchant for being injured. While healthy, he’d be my first choice, but I believe he’ll be taken by Kiffin at LSU.
Drew Mestemaker was high on my list earlier this season, but has since slipped a tad though he’d still be a good acquisition at QB.
Our local kid, West Florida QB Marcus Stokes, would be better than Lagway. Stokes has been a lower division phenomenon.
Just names to me, have not seen play. These days I all but never watch football (college or pro) beyond UM. But of course the media hype them up to get fans frothing…
TCU QB Josh Hoover
Missouri QB Beau Pribula
Looking at portal listings seems like a ton of 3-star QBs seeking greener pastures.
We are not confident in Nickel?
Not sure how many, if any, here are privy to seeing the young QBs in practice. Even elsewhere probably aren’t many who see them firsthand and are competent to judge. There used to be a time where more attention was paid by media and fans to how the “next great QB” was being groomed. As I have said in the past not sure why any high school stud QB looking at the recent track record would sign with UM.
Supposedly add Iowa State QB Rocco Becht to the “free agent” list.
“Along with the most wins, Becht will be among the most productive quarterbacks in college football to return. His 9,274 passing yards ranks second behind TCU transfer Josh Hoover among returning players. Becht also has 64 touchdown passes and 83 total touchdowns, which are both top five among returning quarterbacks.”
Air Noland, QB from South Carolina. Seem to recall this name. Maybe because it’s unique, don’t know.
Rocco Becht is probably going to Penn state with his coach.
My favorite qb in the portal- this years version of mensah.
The irresistible force of the portal/NFL appears to have lost out here if I read correctly. Mark Fletcher is coming back for his senior year. Should not impact Pringle much. Others? Kids who love the game want to play, esp. if the pros aren’t in the cards.
