The #1 take away from this Youngkin victory - life after Trump. There is a playbook now for pubs to follow without using Trump. Well, he used him in the primary but distanced himself after. We can work with this and hopefully build from it moving forward.
Also, another important message is that dems should stop running retreads (including biden) moving forward. Hopefully, they get the message.
It is a shame that pubs have to rely on fake bogeymen tho to campaign with. I guess on day 1 the governor can now check off campaign promise #1, that CRT is removed from all primary education lolololololol
The election was won on repudiation of Critical Race Theory which will spell the death knell of Democrats supporting such divisive dogma taught in public schools. Youngkin was trailing in Virginia until he latched on to being a staunch opponent of CRT. Had McAuliffe not lied that CRT was being taught in Virginia schools and attacked parents who criticized CRT, he’d now be governor of Virginia. Hopefully, Youngkin follows DeSantis’s lead in banning CRT in all Virginia public schools and universities as well.

I’m cool with Trump being “finished as a politician”…I just worry that there isn’t anyone else that has a lot of the balls he did to stand up to this bullshit and I would prefer they be able to control their ego and be able to win over the middle better than he is. Does that person exist?
He was such an easy vote for me over progressive liberalism that it was a no-brainer.
And regardless of who you voted for, the all out media onslaught against him was fucking disgusting and unprecedented.
People on the left will obviously oppose any GOP candidate. They probably see Trump as especially dangerous because he courts conspiracy theorists, fosters distrust in democracy & elections & our intelligence services, and is too stubborn to listen to his advisors.

Trump has never been stronger. This election validates his America First MAGA policies. These policies comprise upon what the winners in this election based their campaigns–traditional American values… This election proves Trump to be right. Ten months of Biden failure is the beginning of what will be an avalanche of opposition to woke culture along with an illegal alien border invasion, empty shelves in stores, extortionate fuel prices, and constant unfair accusations of racism. Over in Europe, Sleepy Joe lived up to his moniker name. He fell asleep during a vital climate change lecture. Then,he spent time apologizing for America, similar to the schmuck Obama who did the same thing. Then, he servilely begged both Russia and Saudi Arabia to pump more oil because his policies have sent prices through the roof. This is your liberal, progressive president at work. This is the kind of government for whom 81 million people voted.

Look, it’s possible there was a successful cover up and all evidence has been erased. But the fact remains that you would be holding your opinion without any evidence.
