If it was real, they would allow a bipartisan group of folks on the committee. Then they could ask Pelosi and others questions. But it’s not meant to actually get indictments or anything.
Just a strategic play looking ahead to 2024 and to cause division among Trump and his followers and continue to keep the narrative about 2020 instead of focusing on the disaster that is our country right now.
I can’t say it’s a terrible strategy though. What else are the Dems going to tout right now?

This is about making sure the official count in history is correct. Nothing more and nothing less. A twice impeached bozo, will now be scarred with his attempt to overthrow American democracy, intentionally. Hopefully, we will heal and learn from our mistake. Hopefully we will work towards corrective measures to prevent the atrocity from happening again. Lastly, hopefully rationality will come back to republicanism so that we can move the country forward on a message that doesn’t direct hatred stoked by fear.
Oh, it’s definitely provable and definitely a crime. He solicited donations to a fund that didn’t exist with intent of spending the money on something entirely different. There wasn’t a fund. But, you’d have to find someone who directly solicited (created the email, etc) who KNEW there was no fund and then have them testify. That’s not too easy. But, definitely probable and definitely a crime.
