I do need at least one mod because I’m not always around. Sometimes I’ll go days without checking in. I can count on one hand the times this board has needed moderation and I wasn’t always around when it did. It’s very rare and like my original statement when this board was made I don’t want much moderation if any in the Shelter.
I also agree that a mod shouldn’t engage in an argument and then delete posts. 51 knows that and we talked about it. Honestly I’m not crazy about the personal attacks especially when it involves a man’s family. You all just need to hit the ignore button on each other.

Also 90% of correspondence with this asshole 51 is him jumping in on my threads when I’m not addressing him. Maybe once a month I may come in and comment on one of his responses, especially when it points out a hypocrisy or double standard in one of his previous posts or to correct something that is simply untrue (happens a lot with him) .

I propose @skeeter be made a moderator. He is on the board as much as anyone and will be a fair arbiter of the board rules.
I have no problem with 51 as a moderator either but I can see where @skeeter feels targeted and is frustrated.
The shelter should allow 99.99999% of discussion freely. Racism and direct threats of violence should be moderated. That’s it.
I’ve got no dog I the fight here. Not my board. But I would imagine that in general, selecting someone who’s threatened to assault another posters children would be disqualifying.
But that’s just me.
