Complete trash that has no place in public school libraries. Secondary school libraries have limited budgets that should be used for acquisitions of great literature and reference books of enduring quality. There is no budgetary room for books advocating explicit sexuality that infringes on the rights and expectations of parents that their children receive a wholesome, patriotic education. Schools must recognized the superior rights of parents in regard to teaching about human sexuality over the rights of educators and politicians. Secondary school libraries are not university libraries which have a more expansive role in acquisition of works of diverse points of view some of which are controversial and even inimical to the beliefs of some people. They should not be reservoirs of pornography, but should contain data treating the subject in scholarly fashion.
Secondary education in America is the weakest link in the chain of our systems of education. Social studies must always give way to the study of science and practical applications and vocational skills which provide students with knowledge enabling them to function successfully in the future.
