Why Cristobal Should Be Fired Immediately IMO

simply because he is never going to get a better opportunity than he had in 2024.

generational QB.

extremely easy schedule.

adequately experienced roster.

returning coordinators.

weakened in state rivals.

relatively healthy and roster not decimated by injuries compared to other programs.

literally everything was lined up perfectly this season and we didn’t even make the ACC title game. that is the failure and its really only downhill from here to be honest.

this was the best he could do and 10 wins is fine if you’re ok with never winning a title again.

this was the best its ever going to get under Cristobal and this isn’t good enough sorry. no point in dragging this along any further.

I saw the title of the thread and I immediately thought… “Oh boy. Here we go again!”.

But I read your arguments, and I have to say, I agree with you now. Inexcusable.

It’s a bit like Ryan Day and Michigan. If you didn’t beat THAT 6-5 Michigan team this year, then when is he going to beat them? He’s 66-10 though and while you wouldn’t fire a coach for that record, he’s 1-4 vs Michigan now and there’s maybe no end in sight as the Wolverines seem to have the big mental advantage in the series now.

How the hell did we NOT BRING HOME a game with a 21-0 lead in the first half?

Miami has glaring weaknesses on defense particularly the back 7.
It amazing they won 10 games IMHO.

We either have the slowest defensive players or take the worst angles. We can’t seal off an edge to save our lives. I’ve seen so many instances of our players being in the right spot but a step or two slow. And that step or two costs us 10-15 yards.

We never catch anyone in the open field, even with angles. Our DBs are lost in coverage. If the front four doesn’t get after the qb, we’re screwed.

Can’t fire him.

But ya just a ridiculously bad ending to the season.

It’s easily understandable why we as Hurricane fans are disappointed after losing to Syracuse. No doubt that we were outplayed, Syracuse played a spectacular game, but we were outcoached. The spector of sorrow hangs high over us, but bear in mind it is probably no greater than that affecting fans in Columbus, Ohio. Certainly Ryan Day should not be fired, and neither should Mario Cristobal.

We won ten games this year. No doubt Mario is one of the best recruiters in college football. Mario got us arguably the best QB in the collegiate game who is being considered for a Heisman. This year, we put on the field the best Miami team in the last two decades.

Indeed Mario has made errors of judgment during games. Calling for the FG was a disheartening strategic failure, but the Hurricanes won a lot of games this year that they well might have lost.

Looking forward we’ll need a QB. Obviously, we need more speed on defense. The name of the game in college football is stopping the pass, and small wonder that the key strategy for offenses is getting rid of the ball ever faster. If Mario has a forte, it’s his recruiting skill. For this reason alone, Mario is a keeper.

Nah, can’t fire him. Let’s see if he learns from his mistakes this year and let’s see if he has the nads to fire Guidry and grab someone who can scheme around the players that we have.
