How many times have we heard the phrase “Ukraine is a sovereign nation?” But, what about us? Are we a sovereign nation? Apparently, the mayor of Los Angeles doesn’t think so, that is, we should submit to an immigrant invasion rather than enforce federal immigration laws? Perhaps we need to examine why Karen Bass is more concerned with protecting illegal aliens than American citizens.
You’re still trying to use The Federalist? Of course you are. I’m surprised you’re not injecting bleach at this point in your delusional life.
First, this implies that because she was involved in the Venceremos Brigade in the 70s, that she is complicit in Communist subversion, organized violence and anti-American extremism. No evidence presented that she holds or promotes communist ideology. Participation in a controversial group as a child is quite common, and more common in GOP circles having like Horowitz and Michael Savage. Also, the VB was never designated as a terrorist org by the US government.
Secondly, this article jumps from 1975 to 2024, suggesting an unbroken line of radicalization and implying membership in the group as a teenager means she is now orchestrating urban insurrection. Over 40 years of her professional, political and civic leadership are skipped over, including her time as Speaker of the CA Assembly and US Representative. No credible link is drawn between Bass’ early affiliations and any evidence based responsibility for the recent protests.
Third, the article refers to “riots and looting” allegedly occurring in LA and implies widespread support by Bass. There is no evidence of looting and lumping together immigration protests, George Floyd era unrest and Palestinian solidarity demonstrations into one seamless “mob” narrative implies false continuity and is overt and pathetic propaganda.
Fourth, the article claims ICE is conducting raids on violent criminals and any pushback is tantamount to harboring them. As we’ve seen, ICE is not only targeting violent criminals at times, but nonviolent undocumented immigrants and mixed-status households, which caused the protests to begin with. The protest of ICE activities is not endorsing criminal behavior, much to the dismay of you, the very people who overtly endorsed violent behavior on Jan 6 where 140 police officers were attacked.
This is pathetic propaganda, the kind lifelong plagiarist and founder Ben Domenech, is known for. Straw man arguments, appeal to fear, and Red Scare rhetoric for the simply minded and morally bankrupt.
This isn’t a piece of journalism; it’s an ideologically loaded polemic that relies on conspiracy laden rhetoric, misrepresents past affiliations as current threats, equates protests to violence, and makes assertions without evidence. The underlying aim is to de-legitimize political dissent and advocacy on behalf of immigrants in favor of authoritarianism.
This article is weaker than your spine, conviction and the piss stream in your Depends diapers, old fella.
