Who didn’t see this a mile away?

@skeeter

But now many lives were saved?

Indiana- we’re aways right even if late.

Always right huh? How’s that research going on women who are raped having less a chance at pregnancy?

He said “we’re always right even if late.”

“Always” applies to all of the rights arguments, as far as I know.

I agree with the premise that not going to school is problematic as would any rationale human. I would also argue that living another day, so that you can learn later is a better alternative than being dead and not having the opportunity to learn.

I also find it hilarious that the clowns who have been trying to destroy public education for the last 30 years are so bent out of shape about kids missing school because of a worldwide pandemic. Shouldn’t y’all be celebrating instead of fabricating your next boogeyman issue? If not, guess we can always thank trump for shutting down our economy/school/livelihood. You should make sure your misplaced anger points in the "right"direction.

Lastly, these stupid fucking hot takes from GSCl  wn are always hilarious. He really thinks he’s winning something. Such a sham of a subhuman.

Ah yes, I remember all the threads by GSC pontificating about school closures in the Philippines and India…

Yea because that’s the only place. I had a kindergartener/first grader during this plandemic. I have 1st hand experience how these kids in particular got fucked.

More lying dear lord. I hope you are paying attn and will follow through with the appropriate punishment for the pathelogical.

The article is mostly about 3rd world countries. When it comes to the US, it says kids are 8-12 weeks behind and catching up. OH THE HORROR.

Always wrong. Without fail.

This is an asshole comment.

Firstly that’s an average. Many kids are way behind.

And if you look at formative years, K, 1st and 2nd where the brain is closing on reading elasticity, it’s very bad. My kid for instance was 8 reading levels behind. I had to sit with him for months and catch him up. Thank god he had a resource like me who forced it on him and made sure he got what he needed.

Now go into inner cities and see how many kids didn’t have that resource. That parent to sit with them. And they’ll never learn to read or write. They’ll aways be behind.

Because some assholes needed to retain power for themselves.

Better to be alive and behind than dead with no chance. Smart people take lockdowns 10/10 ftw

Keep lying to yourself.

Kids died is your point? good thing we kept them from spreading it faster than lightning strikes by locking them down.

Whatever helps you justify the bad decision bro.

That must have been so awful for you to actually read to your kid. Sorry to hear that.

For the record, my kid was in K->2 for the 2020-22 years and he’s fine. So maybe your district really dropped the ball with something, I can’t say and I won’t assume. LAUSD continuously provided lunches, tablets, and education the entire time.

Yes, not having parents as a resource will set you back, school or no. That is a common constant that we can only help so much.

What a stupid arrogant comment. You don’t teach a kid to read, or write, or spell, or comprehend, by reading to him. You have him do the work by doing exercises in writing and spelling and reading (him reading).

I’m glad your kid was fine. Mine struggled. He’s always been more adapt at math than reading and his first grade teacher did not do a good job with him and also reporting back to us. For the record, my son’s school is excellent. Every teacher has a Master’s or higher. My son, however, simply didn’t get assessed properly. So while he was able to read he was having certain issues with writing and comprehension that they just didn’t catch for some reason (most likely because they were overwhelmed with all the changes from virtual schooling and the constant policy changes).

And so if you understand my point then why all the nonsense to get here? A Certain number of kids will be forever behind because of the bad decisions that politicians made and school boards allowed.

This is really really really really REALLY wrong.

Early reading to a young child is one of the better predictors of educational outcomes there is.

Talk about stupid arrogant comments…

Because I don’t agree with your point. Several weeks in the scheme of things is not bad at all. In fact, according to your article, the US did a phenomenal job with school closures comparatively.
