The loan forgiveness isn’t sitting well with the left or right. The left says it’s not enough and the right says it’s pandering for votes and going to increase inflation (it will).
So, outside of maybe persuading a few 22 year olds to vote in the mid-terms, I’m not sure what good this does.
At least you are admitting that it isn’t about votes now. That was a quick about face.
It isn’t about votes; it is about doing what is right and using tax money wisely.

How do you justify MTG saying government should not forgive debt when they forgave her debt in the last year or two? Everybody and their mother would point out the hypocrisy, no deflection needed.
Um, did you miss the point that Trump’s White House DID do this? Isn’t that what the White House tweets are about?

For the record, I don’t really agree with the loan forgiveness. I think addressing the core issues would have been better, and I would have been good with canceling predatory interest.
But whatever, I’m not up in arms about it. It seems the cancellations are fairly meager. We do need to fix education funding though.
If Trump’s white House pushed this stuff through, I’d begin the process of evaluating differing policies to see why I wasn’t voting for him.
I think the two points can coexist. Pandering is part of the equation, not the whole reason.
But I’m glad we have an official here to keep score.

bikki can go on a 5-page rant if you want. Basically, schools cost way too much. tuition funds bureaucracy and admin way more than actual professors and things that benefit students. Universities have lost their way.
