Is this a good idea? Not so sure about intimidating Supreme Court justices. Seems like a pretty bad idea, if not illegal.
Protesting isn’t illegal, but no, this is not a good idea. There will be some idiots that try to take it too far.
You have 3, largely unpopular (vote) justices placed in power by the conservative minority in the US. These justices want to end a woman’s right to have an abortion by growing the size of government. Of course the collective will of the majority of Americans will be angry. Americans are tired of letting these broke ass red states dictate policy to the rich ass blue states
Protests at homes of Supreme Court justices are illegal. They affect the due process of rendering judgment. The protesters should rightly be arrested and punished. This type of behavior also took place during the Chauvin trial and is a cited reason for motioning the appellate court for a new trial.
As usual, Djrion’s comment is incorrect and is a crudely and annoyingly drafted message… Obviously, Djrion doesn’t have a clue about what the key factor is concerning reversing Roe v Wade. Roe was wrongly decided and was a decision arising from judicial activism creating a national right to abortion. There is nothing in the Constitution that should compel the High Court to guarantee a Right to Abortion. nor to subsume the authority of the legislature to make laws.
Alito’s draft does nothing to forbid abortions as many morons presently contend.
That doesn’t answer the question. Is it ok to intimidate justices of the Supreme Court by protesting outside their houses?
Of course it doesn’t. It addresses other things, like how Supreme Court justices are appointed - which, by the way is how the system works - regardless of whether or not you like the pick.
Have they done something illegal?
Huh?
I’m asking a simple question about protesting outside their houses. Seems to have the potential to influence our justice system through intimidation, no?
And this White House defends it.
Sounds like whitehouse is signaling positively rather than telling them to “stand by” and be ready to attack. YUUUUUUUUGE difference.
If someone breaks the law, then punish them accordingly.
Statute 18
Imagine if we could just arrest every protestor that has ever existed. Wonder how many people would be left. Bet we could get close to Russia whisking away people the second they open their mouth?
Indiana - I was agreeing with you. My response was sarcastic.
They told us they were growing gardens in that zoned off section of Seattle (until the mayor had to explain the bodies)
They told us Portland was peaceful too
Good times.
Of course the collective will of the majority of Americans will be angry. Americans are tired of letting these broke ass red states dictate policy to the rich ass blue states
I thought we were about economic equality nowadays?
Lost little partisan sheep.
It always bothers me when Djrion’s post are expressed in “cool dude fashion.” “Broke ass, rich ass, stupid ass.” Djrion actually is a pretty good writer until he assumes a phony identity, similar to Hillary’s penchant for using black English when associating with blacks. Sorry, Dj, but you fail as a cool dude. In fact, I’d venture to say that you’ll likely never be as cool of a dude as even bikki228.
Notice the hypocrisy.
George Floyd carnage - yes
Jan 6 NO!
Scotus intimidation - yes!
Scoundrels. No integrity.
Did I miss something? Did the Supreme Court protests turn violent?
They had to hide Alito due to death threats.
Cute how you skipped over gentle Georgie’s “protests”
You realize they have secret service protection right?
And I’m sorry……did I miss the part where Biden and co encouraged violence after Floyd’s death?
Yes
First of all, a guilty verdict was reached.
Second, getting more confrontational doesn’t mean violence. But let’s say it did…,…
Funny how you tail about this but claim the 1/6 protesters were peaceful. You defended “trial by combat.” You defended “taking names and kicking ass.” You defended “fight like hell.”
You aren’t on the right side of this argument.
