I actually think BLM protests hurt in the polls, so they don’t appear to be a motivator to push during election years. BLM itself motivates the right wing pretty overwhelmingly. The left, not so much, I don’t believe. From the perspective of the protests, they seem to be more driven by incidents as opposed to electoral timing:

2015 Walter Scott, Freddie Gray, Meagan Hockaday
