Rhett Lashlee certainly does not believe in being timid or sitting back on offense. It’s at the half and they are giving Baylor way more than they can handle. He’s called just about every play maybe except a flea-flicker in the first half (heh).
SMU is fun to watch. The only downside on the field right now is that they are yapping too much . Yeah it’s okay to feel good about yourself but until you are a top-dog it’s best to just shut up and play.
SMU’s D is gang-tackling (which they have to do) because Baylor’s RB’s and WR’s are big guys and hard to bring down. All the talk in the world won’t help if SMU’s D gets worn down.
You get your money’s worth watching Lashlee’s SMU team. SMU didn’t win, but it was a truly exciting contest. SMU put up over 459 yards of offense, but Baylor put up a whopping 600 yards. SMU lost by missing a field goal in OT.
An examination of the stats shows SMU’s offense consisted mainly of chunk-yardage. Big plays and quick scores thru the air are fine but do no favors for an under-sized D.
As the game went on Baylor’s bigger RB just bludgeoned SMU’s LB’s and DE’s. Couple that with large receivers who were catching almost everything thrown at them …it was only a matter of time for SMU.
“Lashlee should be an option for UF - napier will be fired soon.”
Elite80 isn’t SMU famous for its very deep-pocket boosters ? It would be great to see Lashlee get a high-profile gig but you gotta think that the SMU boosters would throw truck-loads of cash at him to stay.
Also..I’ve become a huge fan of the coaching in the Missouri Valley and Big Sky conferences . It’s a wonder no one has thought to grab one of the top coaches from one of them for an SEC or ACC spot.
