Wake Forest Game Thread

The tough part about the D is that our line is supposed to be weaker but our secondary is supposed to be stronger to compensate, but then injuries are wiping out that strength.

On the plus side I do think the pass rush will improve as the players get more tired and our conditioning wins out.

Fuggin kidding me. It’s week three against shit ball teams.

Damn… . Marty Brown may be out for the season

With this O, the D only needs to break serve a couple times and Miami should be fine

Starting to remind me of 2024 a little bit…

Sad part is if we had Ward or probably Mensah last year, we win the natty.

For those of us who can’t watch, are they cheap shotting our guys at the knees or what with the injuries? We shouldn’t be losing guys at this rate.

I think mostly unlucky but it’s ridiculous

The Brown injury was a freak one. He got tackled and rolled up on. Not sure about Moten.

Looks pretty clean to me. Both injuries seemed to be when players were going full speed, nothing sneaky. Perhaps someone saw something I did not.

How so?

Almost positive Moten is back

How I saw it as well. But that’s a lot of the ball bouncing the wrong way. Some luck

He is. With a shoulder harness. At least for a snap or so.

Lightfoot and Blount getting very good

Need some Damon Wilson and good health at that position and we are very good there again.

D seems to have weathered the initial storm, adjusted, or both. Kill this game now.

O looks lethal. Can be methodical. Can hit chunk plays. Should have some home run ability. Mensah makes all throws. Changes plays. Seems to see everything. And is a big cheerleader out there. About as impressive as you could ever expect.

And Fletcher has already trucked 2-3 Wake defenders so far.

Some key players I’d like to see over the next few quarters

Pringle
D.Wilson (it’s fine by me if he’s the clear 3rd DE though because the top 2 are really coming into their own)
Carter or another tackle
Bonner (or another LB, but he’s getting more stats and supposedly staff said he took a step forward)

Another corner if Lucas situation is gonna linger (reports seem to be all over the place here)

Also worth noting that Lofton looks like a new player this year. Lost some weight and now healthy, looks good out there.

Agree on Lofton. Hurdled a defender on one catch tonight. Came off with an ankle injury? May as well stay off if not already.

Agree w ur previous post on DE’s. And the way it’s going (and they should be fresh), I’d like to see a lot more pressure as the game wears on.

Mali…almost 500 yards and 5 TDs through 11 quarters now. Cripes.

Mensah. Still surgical.

DB’s should be getting some reps the rest of the way for sure.

Really like the reaction post first wake offensive drive.

Toney is a killer at running routes man.
