Do what exactly? Is the consensus that a Trump victory would magically fix everything? Would it right a wrong? Would it make the people on this board as well as other citizens happy? I highly doubt it. I can readily admit that I survived his presidency unscathed. If he were to win again, I would not lose any sleep whatsoever. I’m not going to lose my mind because the person that I personally don’t believe is a fit for office were to win. I would go on with life as normal. My life is driven by my beliefs and ethics and not who’s sitting in the Oval Office. The issues we have in this country go far deeper than one person. It’s time that we start electing people that actually represent us and not continue to divide us. The answer doesn’t lie with the Republican Party nor does it lie with the Democratic Party. It solely lies with us The People! It’s up to us to hold these people we elect accountable and not be driven by emotions and fear. We need to be driven by logic and reasoning. That’s all I have.
Your post is exceptionally well-reasoned CanesSC, but at the moment we have only two choices. For my own part, I believe Trump the more capable candidate. Where Kamala stands on issues is unclear, and she’s shown an unwillingness to face questioning. She seems rather inexperienced in terms of economic understanding, and she accomplished little as Veep. She is apparently difficult to work with inasmuch as she’s had a hard time retaining staff workers.
I agree with Trump’s foreign policy of keeping us out of unnecessary wars. As a secular Jew, I favor Trump’s view toward Israel. Having RFK on the team is a positive. His views on censorship, child health, and government corruption are laudable. That Trump can deal with persons having opposing views is a sign of statesmanship in my opinion.
Good post, CanesSC. Life is more than politics and you have sober take on the parties.
It’s easy to get caught up in the us versus them team aspect of it all.
Obviously it would Make America Great Again Again.
Pretty much this.
The only way my life was directly affected by Trump was he made being married more expensive on my taxes.
Similar to Biden enlisting Harris, actually.
4 reasons I would actually vote for Trump:
-
I live in SC. He’s going to win SC, so my single vote for or against would be non-consequential.
-
As stated earlier, I survived one term, a second won’t kill me.
-
If he were to win, he can never run again.
-
I actually think he’s going to lose the election outright, and no one would be able to say it was my fault.
I have come to enjoy your posts, CaneFan. While I am not conflicted about my choice in the election, there are many who remain undecided. Permit me to point out that under Kamala, you WILL experience the greatest tax hike in human history. Taxes on unrealized gains will be insanely unpopular with people who husband their monies and have seen their nest eggs grow.
I think as well that the invasion of our nation by illegals, many undesirables, has been used as a ploy to cement one party rule in America. I’ve seen one party rule having lived in Russia during the Soviet era. Government becomes an oligarchy and the people are deprived of having a remedy to change leadership.
The rise of conservative populist candidates is now a worldwide movement as people suffer under woke, anarchic liberal governance. America has become significantly less great under Biden/Harris, leaving us with Trump as the only alternative. I regard Trump and the points of the Republican platform significantly better than the rather nebulous policies put forth by Kamala.
Who do you think should run the next time around? Win or Lose, Trump won’t be able to run again whether it’s he can no longer serve, or his age will keep him from running.
Living in Florida, I am a DeSantis man. DeSantis has been an excellent governor. I also like another Floridian in Bryon Donald. I also really like Ramaswamy. Christy Noem would be a good choice… . What about Elon Musk?
Whom do you like? Trey Gowdy is impressive in your state.
Don’t think Gowdy is interested. Honestly, I’m not sure about anyone.
Wow…You really mean you somehow survived that big, bad, awful dictatorship?
