Indiana - really. GANGS. There have been gangs in this country since I was in HS. I remember there were Latin King members at Miami Palmetto. I am sorry to tell you this is just another scare tatic. Miami is one of the most dangerous cities in the country. Same with New Orleans. Both states run by republicans. Little Rock is one of the most dangerous Cities. St Louis has one of the worst cities for crime.
Most people that come into this country are not rapist. They are not people who commit murder. The reality is most of the crime in this country is home grown. That kid who shot up that school yesterday in Georgia was not from Venezuela. The kid who shot up Douglas was not from outside this country. These mass murders are from HERE…

So whether the majority are good or not, these are illegals adding to our existing problems and it’s a big deal.
When an illegal criminal gang sets up shop in a Denver suburb and takes over the whole apartment complex it’s a big problem.

I don’t want a single extra murder above and beyond what we already have in the US.

Also, your logic is flawed. Just because a) we have always had gangs in those cities and violence and b) most illegals are not criminals
Those two things don’t diminish the fact that there are illegals, criminal gangs coming to the US and making things worse. Not to mention the fact that the illegal ones that are not committing crimes are still breaking the law and jumping in front of people trying to come legally.
You cannot have a country without borders. Immigration is rightly permitted to strengthen a country not turn it into a third world hell hole.

It’s not about believing. Gangs in this country have been around since I was a kid. I went to a high school which had Latin kings. One of the worst crip gangs is in Arkansas.
It used to be MS13 - now it’s gangs from another country. This is just another fear tactic of the right. I care more about my son’s safety when he goes to school every day. Name one time you or anyone on this site has encountered a gang. The only time I did was in Miami during the 90’s.

Desantis may have pluses in many areas but education in florida sucks. He is trying to privatize education and these charter schools are popping up everywhere. homeowners insurance - you want to win my vote - either party this industry needs to be regulated. Whatever income tax I save for living in florida is now going to my insurance company. There is zero competition and these companies are raping us homeowners.

make our schools safe. I knew the AD and Coach who died at Douglas HS. Last year my son went to a private school and one of the students threatened to bring a gun to school and shoot it up. I found out about it through my son. He was suspended last year and they wanted to bring him back this year. We switched schools. I am for people having faith but the moment you tell me god wants us forgive this kid and all is right, I have a problem. No one will ever tell me thoughts and prayers.
These things are more important to me then some Venezuelan gang member who may or may not be among us.

The ultimate goal of having no border is to turn Texas blue. If that happens, the likelihood of Republicans ever winning a national election is diminished. To me, open borders is analogous to having a national death wish. Immigration should be selective and devoted to individuals who will improve our nation. Unfortunately letting 11 million in during his presidency is a bad job and trumps any good he’s done by expelling some. Objectively, he’s been an abject failure on the border.
We need to take care of our citizens first. How many are struggling but can not get help because we are spending money helping illegals and do not have the funds to take care of legal people.

I agree. Dems tried to push an immigration bill in that would give the president greater power to limit entries, but Republicans blocked it.
I would have liked to see that bill go through, but at least the Dems are doing what they can.
Go look up what Ted Cruz has to say about that bill. It wouldn’t have solved the problem and would have basically done very little. He lays out all of the problems.
And it was 3 1/2 years too late.
Dems don’t get any credit for that attempt in an election year. It was bad.
