Well choreographed opening drive. Established the short passing game. Established the running game. Then hit them with a longer pass or two. Mix in a little deception.
The only real mistake was the false start that was probably supposed to draw them offsides and bit us instead.
But tight play overall.
If Beck has a clear pocket, he’s a very good QB

Tech always plays Miami tough.. little brother syndrome since back in the BigEast days…
Hopefully CMC and the coaches have the boys motivated and they understand what is at stake.

PS As of yesterday, gameday tickets for this game were selling for $6 … #notatypo yes, SIX dollars.
PPS Funny fact about the Hokie Stone uniforms they are wearing… It’s supposed to represent the stone that is all over all the buildings on campus. Except that the quarry where that stuff came from has dried up. 
That fake from Beck was amazing. Hard to catch even on a replay, and VTech fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

Franklin was a good hire for Va Tech. He’s a good CEO as coach, much like Mario, a great guy and formidable recruiter.
The thing I would worry about with Franklin, is that he couldn’t “get it done” with the bottomless pit of resources at PSU. He won’t have that at Tech.

Oh no… that injury to Jakobe Thomas does not look good.
VTech has good speed to the edge. I haven’t watched them at all and wonder that they don’t look as bad as their record. Maybe they’re a one note team with bad passing, and maybe their defense isn’t that great?
