Let the hating begin!
So, Toyota is up 8% on the news of a 15% tariff. Why would that be?
Because now Ford, GM and Tesla and all other American manufacturers are going to be paying 50% more for their steel, 50% more for their copper, 25% more for their Canadian production, 25% more for their Mexican production, and 55% on their Chinese production. Toyota has to only pay 15% more and they’re done.
Nice work putting American car companies far behind Japan’s car companies. Real nice work.
Just like they planned it.
This assumes they source these raw materials from places that have tariffs of those rates. They have options to select American raw materials or other lower tariff goods.
A childish response lacking basic thought into the subject matter.
US manufacturers already source domestically where feasible. US steel and copper are often more expensive than imports, even before tariffs. The US doesn’t produce enough refined copper or specialty grade steel to meet the auto industry demand, so imports are essential. Switching supply sources is not like changing lunch spots. Sourcing exclusively domestically costs more than the tariffed price. There is no magic “cheap American steel” button, or they’d already be doing it.
Trump’s “deal” enhances Toyota’s ability to keep prices low, margins high…all the while US auto makers with higher costs and tariff complexity.
Once again, Trump puts the US, US corporations and US citizens in worse shape than before with yet another example of how he can’t make a deal and gets fleeced.
Gsc, just has no understanding of tariffs. He does not understand that they are not good for Americans. Even staunch republicans will tell you this. His trade wars are just a distraction for his disastrous presidency.
He doesn’t care, dude. He’s not entering into these conversations in good faith, like he cares for the betterment of the US and its finances. It’s all a rouse…he’s wants an authoritarian and a theocratic autocracy which highlights cruelty for the sake of it. That’s all he really cares about. None of the rest matters to him, even the raping of children. He’s never cared about any of it.
Like I’ve said before, the guy feeds off inhumanity and the destruction of virtues of any kind.
I believe that republicans led by JD Vance will impeach trump after the midterms. They know he is a losing proposition. JD wants to be top dog. MLGSA.
Yes, it’s true the U.S. doesn’t produce enough specialty-grade steel or refined copper to meet total domestic demand. And no, supply chains aren’t lunch plans, but “impossible” and “economically inconvenient” are two very different things.
The real question is… “What’s the goal of the tariffs?”
If it’s to re-shore or near-shore supply chains over time, then they’re a pressure tactic—not an overnight solution. Tariffs are rarely clean tools, and yes, they can create pain before gains. But they’re also negotiating chips. This deal with Japan may seem to favor Toyota in the short term, but longer-term? It’s part of a broader trade strategy—and those are always messy.
U.S. automakers already navigate complex global sourcing strategies. Companies like Ford and GM have the resources to adapt—and they’re not helpless victims here. Many of them are already investing in new supply chains (especially for EVs) precisely because they see where things are headed.
Trump’s deal may not be perfect—and few trade deals are—but I wouldn’t call it a wholesale “fleecing” without knowing the broader chessboard.
My god I don’t know if you’re completely politically tone-deaf or just retrarded.
I would bet $10,000 that you’re wrong. Want to make the bet?
There isn’t one.
That’s because your intelligence and integrity are in a race to the bottom. There is no chessboard.
Says the guy who thinks the sun revolves around the earth and that gravity might not be real.
Nole80 ,* apparently is a tariff expert
LOL…Why do you keep repeating this you half retarded cunt?
Everyone heard you the first 37 times. And you’ve also been offered a bet. If you are so sure that you have to post this nearly weekly why not put your money where your mouth is you fucking twat.
I mean this is just disingenuous. Whether you like it or not…. Whether you like Trump or not, there is a goal. In fact there is a multi-goal strategy.
-Even the trade playing field
-Reinvigorate American Manufacturing/Manufacturers
-Strengthen supply lines that increase national security
Decrease the national debt
I could go on. But this is exactly why it’s pointless to discuss anything Trump with you. You’re just a liar.
He may be the dumbest guy in the room when it comes to politics and economics.
Running backs and Tight ends…. 80 all day. Outside of football…. Guy is a mental midget.
Don’t mistake cutting up some tape and working in the recruiting industry for “knowledge of the game”
Lol, gsc you are a funny dude. Just hate to break it to you smart people dont get conned. They also dont believe in bs conspiracies. They also dont believe someone who tells you he is lying and you still think they are telling you the truth.

And let me guess fuck boy….The republicans are going to impeach Trump and GSC thinks he’s religious? Right?

False. Trump even put tariffs on countries like South Korea, where we had a zero tariff deal already in place and a free trade agreement. His tariffs haven’t resulted in countries like China changing their trade practices or buying habits changing by a wide margin. US companies and consumers paid the price. The playing field isn’t evening. We taxed ourselves and got no systemic reform.
Yet, you defend selling core American businesses to foreign interests. Isn’t it weird under Trump’s first term, American manufacturing lost approx 178,000 jobs and was a net loss during his term? Trade wars create uncertainty, hurt investment, and raise production costs.
Supply chains worsened, because tariffs created bottlenecks in critical sectors. If supply chain security was the goal, it needed a targeted reshoring strategy, not broad, unpredictable tariffs that harmed allies and adversaries alike.
The national debt exploded under Trump, adding $7.8 trillion, one of the fastest growth periods in national history and not during a wartime. They’re doing the same thing this term, adding a minimum of $4 trillion.
Seems like projection when we look at the details.
It is also pointless to discuss Trump with you, because you can’t see Trump for who he really is.
