I don’t live in sofla anymore and don’t know the young kids at all. Anyone have any opinions on the two most recent commits? DL and DB I believe.
If I remember correctly the DL Josh Johnson is in Key West which suggests project. Depends on level of competition more than natural abilities. Nothing wrong with the staff having the confidence to coach up a kid, particularly if he bulks up at the same time.
DB Jaylyn Jones from what I read seems to be more of a hitter and/or blitzer than deep cover safety.
All I know about recruits is based on reading. I don’t watch tape so someone who does likely can offer more insight.
I asked Skeeter about Johnson in the ‘27 defense thread. He may be from Key West, but it’s way too early to take a commit from a project so the staff likes him a lot. Gotta figure Taylor and company are gonna land serious studs in the cycle so apparently Johnson is no joke.
