I believe there was a time when the left was losing the middle…But I believe Trump lingering is now making the right lose the middle.

I believe without a doubt some of the middle voted for Trump in 2016, either out of dislike for Hillary, or wanting to shake things up with Trump. I also believe the middle voted in force against Trump in 2020 (but let’s not dwell on 2020 since you believe it wasn’t legitimate).
I do think people are sick of Trump and he has lost the middle. Roe didn’t help either (as you often point out).
I think Republicans perform best in 2024 with a Trump-backed DeSantis at the helm. But I could be wrong.
