Some of you haven’t a clue why Trump arrested Maduro, a head of state, who was the leader of the world’s largest crime syndicate, the Cartel del sol. All the rest of the Latin American cartels are/were back benchers compared to the Venezuelan cartel that had the full force of its government to engage worldwide in murder, extortion, bribery, smuggling, human trafficking, and other forms of violence and predatory behavior. Our great president has taken action that will save countless numbers of lives, and through his leadership, sanity will return to the once prosperous nation of Venezuela. This is another Nobel Prize worthy achievement among a half dozen other spectacular foreign policy wins by Donald Trump, the savior of the Venezuelan people.
Crazy liberals just don’t get it. So, let’s hear the Maduro Story as told by a native son of Venezuela, and perhaps some of you will achieve an understanding of why Trump was completely prudent in arresting THE master criminal of our time.

(Cartel of the Suns - Wikipedia) The term originated in Venezuelan journalism in the 1990s as a nickname for corrupt military officers (the “suns” referring to insignia worn by generals), not as the name of a structured criminal organization with defined leadership, hierarchy, and membership like Sinaloa or Medellín.
Even U.S. prosecutors ultimately adjusted their language. In early 2026, the U.S. Justice Department revised its indictment filings so they no longer described Nicolas Maduro as the leader of a literal cartel organization, instead framing the issue more broadly as corruption and alleged trafficking networks tied to state actors. They could not present any evidence of the existence of a centralized crime network in a courtroom setting and had to retreat from the entire premise.
So, as per usual, your premise and entire argument is fake. At the same time, it’s worth noting the inconsistencies in how the Trump administration treated other leaders accused of narcotics crimes. In fact, Juan Orlando Hernandez, the former President of Honduras, was convicted in US Federal Court in 2024 of conspiring to traffic 400 kilograms of cocaine (double the amount of the alleged Cartel de los Soles intended) into the United States. Yet, the Trump administration issued a pardon for him, undercutting the idea the Trump administration’s stated policies towards drug trafficking organizations. In fact, he was pardoned and then whisked away to a 5 star penthouse in NYC all paid for by your tax dollars.
It’s also curious how the Trump administration unilaterally removed sanctions on Venezuelan oil immediately, ignored the outstanding debts, sold the oil to a Trump donor and hid the profits in a Qatar bank under direct control of President Trump.
Sounds like Trump is the master criminal of our time and you, once again, are full of shit.

Venezuela was a place we went after not because Maduro is a bad guy….we went after it because of one reason and one reason only - OIL. No different then why we went into Iraq.
