Yeah, we’ll just never agree here. I believe it is the one true Church passed down through the ages, failings and all. Not abandoning that. Doesn’t mean I don’t want corruption rooted out or bad people to be held accountable.
It means that I’m not giving up my beliefs because of the failings of others.
Understood, entirely. I wouldn’t expect you to, in reality.
I applaud the effort to engage in reasonable discourse. Thank you.
I do have a hobby relating to the subject if ever you’d like to discuss. I propose that the Catholic Church and thus all Christian churches thereafter (being they all sprung from the same) worship Paul more than Jesus and is the Church of Paul rather than Jesus. Fun conversation if ever you’d like to discuss. I’d be curious as to your take.
You won’t play it because I am right. You don’t guys two shits about the kids once they are born. Let’s worry about them when they are the size of a tadpole but the moment they are born you want nothing to do with it. I am all for a national ban if you and other republicans are willing to fit the bill. If not you are right there is nothing to talk about.
All churches should lose their tax exemption. Start paying taxes. God would want you use the money to help others out instead of building buildings which are multi million dollar places to worship. I am sure Jesus was not for these types of places being built.
This is a take I just heard from my father in law. Guess what, the churches can do both! It’s not an either/or.
Would you say the same for any beautiful building? They all could have used the money to feed the poor, correct? Should they all have their congregations in barns? Do you think that beautiful architecture should be exclusive to secular buildings?
Also, what if the beauty of the church moved people to be more generous with their donations and help for those in less need? What if it brings people to a place where they decide they need to help others more?
Can churches be better stewards of their funds, probably. I’m not saying they are always using funds to the best of their abilities. But you could say that for any organization.
Right, Jesus was renown for his ostentatious clothing and places of worship.
I believe he told you to sell all of your possessions and share your testimony throughout the world. But, I’m sure he wasn’t being literal, right?
Then, they aren’t donating to help the needy. They’re donating for tax writeoffs and as a show. This really isn’t where you’re going on this, are you?
I didn’t want to go here, but you asked. This is not trumpeting my greatness and I don’t think I’m better than anyone else. Far from it. I know I have my faults like everyone else.
After birth I support/ have done these things:
Sponsor a child across the globe and teach my kids the importance of helping the less fortunate. Have them write occasionally aswell so it’s not just giving money.
Donate to a pregnancy help center that provides supplies such as diapers, mattresses, formula etc. to new moms in need.
Volunteer at food pantries and homeless shelters with my kids.
Cloth a child charity around Christmas where we get paired with an impoverished child and shop with them for clothes.
Feed a family charity where I’ve driven to some rough areas and delivered gifts.
Thanksgiving basket filling and delivery to the poor.
There are more things I’m involved in in addition to raising a family and work obligations.
Like I said, I didn’t really want to go there but you wouldn’t take my word for it that I do care about the less fortunate.
That’s pretty cool, man. Takes some work.
Like I said…not because of this, but the reason I’m talking to you so much over the last year is you’re the only one on here, on the other side, who I think has value, can be honest, etc. I go over the top and you do too, and it gets us nowhere, but I appreciate the ability to have a reasonable conversation.
I’ve allowed my hostility to shine through and been a prick. I’m working on it with our conversations and again, appreciate the ability and opportunity to sort through some of this and be able to get a reasonable perspective from the other side.

Looks like this is a moot point as Gaetz is withdrawing from consideration of being AG.
Must be because he was too good of a trial lawyer.
It’s Pam Bondi. Another one from Florida.
Isn’t that the one who dropped charges against Trump when he donated to her?

Who gives a fuck?
No donations on your side huh?
